Imagine an oddly romantic science fair…with the biology nerds all grown up and in love… Curious Magpie has brought this geek-chic vision to life amazingly! This styled shoot screams ‘Geek-Chic’ and is full of gorgeous quirks and touches. We love the adventurous use of colours, and the inclusion of our Unconventional Colour of The Year, Deep Blueberry Crush! With photos by Jake Hilder Photography, this collaboration of suppliers is bursting with both gorgeousness and goofiness.

How To Get The Geek-Chic wedding Look...

Anything goes!
Don’t be afraid to mix colours, patterns or styles. This wedding shoot uses lots of royal shades, with pops of brighter colours. You just need a bit of an artistic eye to pull it all together!
Go knick-knack crazy
All the ornaments and props in this shoot add quirkiness and fun, making it very visually interesting. You can add your own personal touches too.
A Quirky Wedding Venue
Who’d have thought a school hall could be such a perfect venue? The beautiful cladded wood creates a perfect warm backdrop and compliments all the rich, royal colours. The dark walls really make the colours pop.

DIY Decor
The eclectic décor in this shoot works together so well, despite lots of pieces being different. This is so achievable, even on a budget. You can find all sorts of knick-knacks, vases, glasses and bottles at your local charity shop! Ornaments, photo frames and suitcases all add to this nerdy, eclectic look and are easy to find! We love the hanging globes and the skull in this shoot, as they’re perfect for a geeky couple.
Sticking with the biology theme, the place markers on the table are leaves! How creative is that?! The leaves are simple but so effective and unique. The insect art by Cath Pilling also fits perfectly with the table arrangements. We also see a few butterflies in the shoot, including on the gorgeous cake by Helen Alborn Cakes, so hints of nature run beautifully throughout the photos.

Funky Flowers
The flowers in this shoot have been arranged beautifully BloomingWild Flowers, showing how you don’t need to stick to a rigid colour pallet for wedding flowers. Placed in quirky little bottles and vases, the contrasting colours and flower types really work well, as well as reflecting the personalities of a quirky colourful couple!

Vintage Wedding Gems
We love the vintage clothes in this shoot, provided by Audrey’s Star Boutique. It shows how you don’t need a conventional white gown for your wedding day. Why not rock a patterned jumpsuit, or a bright colour instead?
I think it’s fair to say that Curious Magpie, and all the suppliers have smashed it with this shoot! We hope it leaves you full of geeky science inspiration!
