Hey, Unconventionals! We have some awesome, unique wedding inspiration for you today. This alternative chapel wedding is mystical, mysterious and downright gorgeous! Set in a historic London wedding venue and using it’s natural decay as styling inspiration, you’ll love these moody photos. This edgy inspiration was captured by Jenny Appleton Photography.
how to acheive this alternative chapel wedding style
let the venue shine
A chapel wedding venue like Asylum has so much personality ad history- make sure it's a key feature of your day.
less is more
The minimal stying in this shoot is effective. The candles create a perfect romantic, slightly magical atmosphere.
rock a dip dye veil
We LOVE this dip dyed bridal look. What a great way to add a splash of colour to your wedding dress.
Asylum- A charismatic London wedding venue
Isn’t this London wedding venue amazing? Asylum is a chapel in London that was bombed during WW2. Perfect for an alternative chapel wedding. The marks of the bombing and the decay were the main inspirations for the shoot. The team wanted to work with the building- The crumbling walls and the light streaming through the stained-glass windows gives the venue an enchanted, gothic magic.
Sometimes only minimal decoration is needed in such a charismatic wedding venue. Less is more for this alternative chapel wedding! Candles create a romantic, ethereal feeling alongside the florals by All Bunched Up.
Alternative Chapel Wedding- Styling for an edgy couple
Can we talk about this alternative wedding dress, please? Check out this dip dye veil by tribe member BexBrides! Bex also created the dreamy bohemian wedding dress- The flared sleeves and blue tassels are bringing me joy! The outfit is completed with incredible hand painted wedding shoes by Inanna Bespoke Shoes (also a tribe member!) and jewels by Sam Ryde Jewellery. Natalie Danielle created the hair and makeup look, going for a smokey eye and bold lip with tumbling curls.
The groom is looking equally awesome, in a suit by Dandy Threads and tie from Bertie & Fred.
