Hello, lovely unconventionals! We have the most gorgeous Ancient Egyptian wedding inspiration for you today. It was sent into us by Marcella Cistola Fotografico– all the way from Italy! This shoot is inspired by the grand, luxurious styling of the Ancient Egyptians. Think gold geometry, elegant draping and modern takes on ancient ideas. Here’s what Marcella told us about the inspiration behind this wedding shoot:
We imagined our Cleopatra as an opulent fusion of design and history. She is an expression of love in the name of glamour and elegance. Imagine a wordly charmer, a sort of Donatella Versace of the past who arrives in Rome from Egypt and twists current fashion by enchanting everyone with her style.

Cleopatra's Wedding- A showstopping bridal look
This modern interpretation of Cleopatra shows an elegant and luminous woman, exuding power and confidence. The wedding dress by Leila Hafzi is inspired by the soft lines of Ancient Egyptian clothing with precious chiffon, a banded bodice and a lightly draped skirt. The wooden and gold statement jewels are from Monies, representing the wealth of the Egyptian empire. Cleopatra’s classic black bob is modernised in a blonde, sprawling cut that frames the face to give it character and light. The use of a wig is a citation to ancient Egypt where natural hair was often shaved and replaced by elaborate wigs. The makeup, by Marianna Zambenedetti, is focused on the eyes, with black lines and the turquoise interpreted in a contemporary way.
The groom wears an elegant white suit by Antonella Rossi Roma, with the shirt collar unbuttoned. In ancient Egyptian weddings and culture, makeup was not an exclusively feminine prerogative, so the use of the Kajal inside the groom’s eye gives it magnetism at the glance.

This ancient Egyptian wedding shoot was located at Galleria del Cardinale, a splendid historic residence from the Baroque Age, in the heart of Rome. Recalling the palms of the Egyptian landscape, Pittafiori Floral Studio created this gorgeous scenic foliage and unique bouquet framed with golden Phoenix leaves. Papyrus was an essential in ancient Egyptian weddings, used as a ceremonial fan. The shoot subtly nods to this tradition.
The Ancient Egyptian wedding table was composed by Relais le Jardin, with golden cutlery and glasses with gold rims. The Phoenix leaves, which match the bouquet, recline on the white plate, to complete the minimal but full-bodied decor.

The wedding stationery by Gill and Paper plays on ancient Egyptian geometry and chromatism with the black, white and gold. A lotus, the symbolic flower of Cleopatra, is stylized and inserted into a wedding emblem of the couple. It is also used as a pattern to create a texture inside the envelope. The seal of the envelope is decorated with bay leaves, a symbol of ancient Rome.
We love this white wedding cake, by Annikka Toni, embellished with gold geometry and inspired by the accessories. The white sugar paste flowers are complimentary to the softness of the dress. The geometric cuts of biscuits and chocolates with gold leaf inserts have a wonderful aesthetic contrast.
