Getting married in the 2020s? Why not throw it back to the roaring 20s with a Great Gatsby Wedding? Think bold, glamorous and flamboyant! This blog, featuring photos by Emma Stokes Photography, is full of fabulous wedding inspiration.
A talented group of wedding suppliers joined forces to bring the Great Gatsby era to the North Downs of Kent. Brought together by make-up artist Kerry-Ann Wells, the idea behind this Great Gatsby Wedding shoot came from the desire to move away from the current trends of light & airy styles and go back in time to the 1920’s era of opulence and sophistication with a dramatic gold and black theme.
How to plan a Great Gatsby Wedding
A regal venue for a Great Gatsby Wedding
Nurstead Court was chosen for its beautiful regency styling with a library, drawing room, grand piano and original features. What a perfect backdrop for a Great Gatsby Wedding! Decadent table styling with black sequinned cloths, vintage tableware and ostrich feathers for set the stage. A jaw-dropping 4 tier wedding cake, striking floral displays and art deco stationery provided the finishing touches to the scene. Balloon styling added a fun element to the shoot and a chic ivory Beauford classic convertible completed the scene in front of the house.
Glamorous 20s Bridal look
We are in love with this Great Gatsby wedding look! Laura, bride for the day, was transformed with a striking and elegant look with and a classic faux bob and glamorous handmade accessories. The look was completed with the stunning Padua gown in gold by Eliza Jane Howell and black satin hand-adorned shoes. Our groom David joined her in a black tuxedo and the scene was set.
