A Bombay Sapphire Wedding… A day filled with your favourite gin and your favourite person sounds like a dream! Lee and Simon combined their love of gin and Motown into a beautiful day filled with love and family. They broke a lot of convention on their wedding day- with no cake, no ceremony readings and no first dance! Why spend money on things that don’t matter to you? To make it even cooler, their reception was held at The Bombay Sapphire Distillery. We love how they did it their way and packed their personality into their wedding.
Top tips to acheive this look
don't waste money on things you don't want
There's no point in splashing out just to make other people happy. Don't want a cake or wedding favours? Simple, don't have them!
for a timeless look, scrap the colour theme
Lee & Simon didn't stick to a colour scheme but focused on clean whites and mirrored decor for a sleek, timeless look.
ask and you might get
The Bombay Sapphire Distillery is usually only open for hire in the evening. Lee spoke to the venue and arranged private hire for the whole day. If you never ask, you never know!
A simple wedding ceremony
The wedding reception was held at Oakley Hall Hotel, a venue close to where the couple live. Lee and Simon wanted a simple ‘I do’ ceremony so chose not to have any readings. They then whisked their guests to the reception in a double decker bus!
the bombay sapphire wedding reception!
Upon arrival at the Bombay Sapphire wedding reception, guests were greeted with a choice of cocktail, a fun change from the usual offering of champagne. At the wedding breakfast, they spread out the speeches in between courses to keep it interesting. It’s so clever that their bridesmaid’s bouquets doubled as centrepieces!
The DIY seating plans were written on mirrors and the wedding breakfast room was decorated with gorgeous blossom trees from Twilight Trees. The sleek colour palette created a classic, clean and sophisticated look.
