Hey there, I’m Emma, the grin-toting photographer behind I Shall Take the Heart. I’ve been shooting all kinds of creative, unexpected and beautiful weddings since 2015.

To me, beauty isn’t about perfection. It’s a stolen glance or a wild dance, it’s about the real, authentic connections between you and your loved ones. That, is beauty.

You want a photographer who shares your values and fits in with your vibe. Someone who’ll blend in, with unobtrusive photography that reflects how the day really felt. Not forgetting some kick-ass portraits capturing you in your loved-up wedding-day glory. And making all this feel like the easiest, most relaxed part of your day.

A former journalist, music photographer and globe-trotter (pre-pandemic!), I’ve lived all around the world. My inspiration comes from art, architecture and the places I’ve been. I have a keen eye for those storytelling moments that make your wedding day truly unforgettable and unique. 

When I’m not behind a camera, you can usually find me chugging oat milk coffees. Or hanging out with my son Jake and his two dads (my co-parents). We’re a rainbow family, and I’m proud to be a part of a community that celebrates love in all forms.
