I’m Janie, the designer and maker behind The Lucky Sixpence. I handcraft every piece in the UK, working slowly and with care from start to finish. I don’t mass-produce my work, and I never rush the process. Each piece is made with intention.
Care sits at the centre of everything I do. I choose materials thoughtfully and consider their impact on the environment and the people who wear my work. Sustainability shapes how I source materials, produce each piece, package orders and set my pace. I believe beautiful things deserve time and attention.
There are a few different ways we can work together.
I create made-to-order designs through my online collection. These can be adjusted to suit your personal style, whether you want a small change or something more noticeable. I also design one-of-a-kind pieces that I make once and never repeat. These designs are ready to ship and completely individual.
If you want something deeply personal, I offer a fully bespoke service. I work closely with you to design a piece from scratch, shaped around your story. It is also possible to include sentimental jewellery, such as family pieces, into your design. I offer this service for both jewellery and hair accessories.
The Lucky Sixpence exists outside narrow ideas of what wedding accessories should be. I design for people, not rules. Inclusivity sits at the heart of my work, and I create accessories for people of all genders, identities and expressions. I believe weddings should feel welcoming, joyful and free from pressure.
