Unconventional Wedding

Lydia & Seth’s Bohemian Woodland Wedding

We have a dream-like real wedding for you today, snapped by the fabulous Vicki Clayson Photography. Lydia and Seth had a beautiful, bohemian woodland wedding and we just had to share the photos with you!

From the campervan arrival to the intimate ceremony, this woodland wedding shows how simple can be so effective, by harnessing the beauty of nature!

Arriving in true bohemian style

Lydia arrived in a gorgeous camper van, in true bohemian fashion. Decorated in flowers and radiant head to toe, she chose to rock a skirt and top instead of a conventional wedding dress, which we adore!

The flowers really tie together the look of the wedding, as Lydia’s bouquet perfectly matches her flower crown. The flower theme runs through the rest of the wedding, especially in Seth’s buttonhole and on the tables.

A Bohemian Woodland Ceremony

This beautiful woodland space is perfect for a secluded, bohemian wedding. The trees are decorated with jam-jar candles and the guests are seated on hay bales, which feel more natural than chairs. I love how very minimal decoration was used. This puts the emphasis on the woodlands and the couple- who needs decorations with such natural beauty?!

This couple will have been legally married before the ceremony due to rules about where couples can get married. So, if you’re wanting an outdoor wedding like this, consider a celebrant ceremony- this will allow you to tailor the ceremony to suit your personalities. Lydia and Seth chose a handfasting ceremony. Organic Wedding Entertainment

Couples often feel pressure to keep their guests, especially the kids, entertained at their wedding. These nostalgic games are a great way to bring guests together and keep kids out of trouble, without costing a fortune! These are easy to make yourself or can be purchased online. The chalkboard is also a lovely idea for little ones. Even small touches like hula hoops can add heaps of fun to your wedding day- the possibilities are endless!

Another thing we LOVE is the surfboard! What a cool alternative to a wedding book! It makes a great keepsake and allows your guests to write messages on something you can keep forever. This idea is totally customisable so you could choose any item that means something to you, and then let your guests transform it into a keepsake!

A Tipi In The Woodlands

The rest of the bohemian woodland wedding was held in a beautiful tipi, decorated with fairy lights and paper cranes. The natural theme continues, with minimal yet effective decoration. The leafy table decorations and wooden chairs (with no seating plan- super chill!) add to the bohemian vibe, and the high ceiling of the tipi gives a very ‘open’ feel.

The newly-weds and their loved ones danced the night away with a live band. Vicki Clayson did an awesome job at capturing this bohemian woodland wedding- we’re now full of outdoor wedding inspiration and hope you are too!
