How To Create A Modern City Wedding

Stick To Your Colour Scheme
Pick a feature colour and a few complimenting shades. Stick to this so everything matches!
Bold Wedding Flowers
Go for a bright design with minimal greenery. Asymmetric designs are great for a modern look.
Modern Materials
Use modern materials instead of wood, wicker, or burlap. This will keep it feeling fresh and contemporary instead of rustic.
A City Backdrop
Pick an awesome city to explore, and make sure there are some great photo opportunities!
The Inspiration
Here’s what photographer Cleya Asulon told us about this modern city wedding:
“This shoot was created from the wedding dress, which is actually a skirt with a laced top. Dress designer Harmonie from La Tutullerie found a sparkling fabric and wanted to create something with it. When she reached out to me with her concept, we put our heads together and reached out to suppliers that we knew would be a perfect fit. It is rare in France to see a real wedding with colour, sparkle and city all at once. We feel we have crafted something that could inspire future brides to be themselves.
My advice would be: Don’t be afraid to use colours and show off a bit! I mean, it is your special day, just follow your true colours (as Cindy Lauper said!).”

Modern City Wedding Styling
The team transformed the rooftop of Radisson Blue Bordeaux into a secret city getaway. Wedding planner and stylist Pauline from Deux Oui un Nom created the ‘Let’s Groove’ sign for this shoot, as well as styling the table with pastel candles and dainty flower arrangements.
Morgane from Sibelle Creations created three bouquets for this shoot, using minimal greenery, strong shades of pink, and asymmetrical floral arrangements.

Contemporary Wedding Wear
This city bride is absolutely rocking these wedding looks. La Tutullerie created two looks for Héloïse – The first is a more traditional two-piece with a long skirt and long veil. The second is more playful and retro, with a tea-length tulle skirt and a birdcage veil. Both outfits are subtly sparkling which we love! The looks are completed with accessories like the pink headband from L’Otarie Club. Gang de Nanas created the glam hair and makeup look, including fun diamantes around the bride’s eyes.
The groom is looking brilliant in this suit by Blandin & Delloye, paired with red velvet loafers. In the daytime, he’s rocking a shirt with the top buttons undone and an untied bowtie, before swapping this out for a plain white tee in the evening.
