This blog post is for your inner hopeless-romantic. Romance is not dead, folks! We regularly see the wedding photos, but often the important events leading up to the wedding often go undocumented. So, today we’re bringing you some romantic proposal ideas and inspiration.
And we’re super excited to be featuring this romantic proposal from from Lotus Photography. It’s extravagant yet easily achievable with some candles and roses! We also asked our Unconventional Wedding Chat Room about their favourite proposal ideas/experiences, and we’ve featured some of them below! So dive in below!

Frame the scene
How beautiful is this candle-lit walkway? The cream and gold with red roses is sophisticated and warm, with simple fabric draping and simple table decor.
This look is easily achievable as candles can be bought in most supermarkets, and your local florist can take care of the flowers.
If you’re on a budget, paper rose petals can also be found for cheap online! Candle holders and gold table decor can be borrowed from friends, sourced online or rented from a wedding stylist.
A romantic proposal as grand as this doesn’t have to cost a fortune!
three part proposal inspiration- make a day of it!
Our romantic proposal pictured has lot of layers to it. After the proposal, there is a meal to celebrate. Then, there’s a comfy space to relax and spend time together. This proposal is far from half-hearted! A cosy space like this is so easy to create with a couple of blankets and cushions (you probably already own these items!) A simple wooden crate and some rustic signs are simple yet so effective, enhanced with bohemian macramé hangings. Using items that you already have/ can borrow will result in a unique, charming space that’s personal to the two of you.

Disneyland Paris Proposal
“I wouldn’t change anything about the way my husband proposed to me.
We were on a bridge over a lake under the night sky on our third anniversary. We just happened to be at Disney in Paris!
He got down on one knee and proposed in French. I love that he didn’t do it in front of the castle like many others do (nothing wrong with that, I just wanted it to be more intimate!) I
t was raining and I had worn the most ridiculous shoes, so I was wearing his. He was in sopping wet socks! I also had his suit jacket on! It makes me smile every time I think about it because it was so us!
Perfectly imperfect!”

London Marathon Proposal
“Hubby proposed to me on the day we were running a water station for the London marathon. We’d been in the freezing cold and rain since 4am taking the kids off thousands of bottle of water. During the run, as the masses were passing, he decided to empty a bottle of water over my head and shout ‘will you marry me!”

Haribo engagement ring proposal
“My now husband had bought us some tickets for a concert I was desperate to go to. The next day, feeling a bit worse for wear, we went on the hunt for food before driving home. He stopped at a little group of shops near where he grew up.
I thought he was going in to get some snacks but instead he came to my side of the car and opened the door. He dropped to one knee and said he loved me and that I was his one!
He showed me a Haribo ring and put in partially on my finger. It was such a sweet moment. I ripped it off my finger and threw in it my mouth while laughing! Thankfully, he didn’t give up and asked me again on my birthday. This time he spelled out ‘marry me’ on t-shirts and got down on one knee with a ring that I couldn’t eat!”
