This wild wedding is all about freedom, simplicity and style! Imagine grabbing your partner’s hand, whisking them away into the great outdoors, and getting hitched! When Karen Faulkner from Stand Out Ceremonies sent us this shoot, she explained to us the concept of ‘micro-weddings’ and the beautiful simplicity they entail. This wild wedding shoot, captured by Holly Jo Whitehall Photography, is making me want to buy a campervan and go on adventures!
Top tips for a wild wedding
What is a micro-wedding?
A micro-wedding is exactly what is sounds like… a tiny wedding! There’s a beautiful philosophy behind the concept. There is a big trend for wild elopements and micro-weddings in the USA, partly driven by a desire to cut down on months of planning and expense. However, the most important intention is to shift the focus from thinking about your guests’ perspective to thinking about your own unique experience with your partner. There’s no reason similar wild weddings can’t be planned here in England, against the incredible scenery of our National Parks.
However, being the ultimate unconventional couple by ditching the expensive venue and giant guest list does not mean any compromise on quality. As you can see, the couple cruised in style in a fabulous campervan (Blue Bay Wedding Cars), dined on the finest banquet (24 Carrot Catering), exchanged vows in a meaningful ceremony (Stand Out Ceremonies) and even cut a gorgeous cake together (Bakezillas Bespoke Cakes). This was all with professional photography throughout, so you can still keep your memories, even with a wild wedding!
Wild Wedding Styling
Set in the stunning Peak District, this wild wedding does not compromise on style. This gorgeous bride rocks a bohemian flower crown and a pastel blue two-piece by Fiona Elizabeth Couture. Her outfit is personalised with awesome, hand-painted leather jacket and boots by Shoodle Shoes. Glam By Becky was in charge of makeup, creating a natural, summer glow and a smoky eye, complimented by beachy waves in her hair. The groom is rocking the smart casual look, with rolled up trousers, a buttoned-down shirt and vintage suspenders.
The macramé backdrop by Amber & Boheme sets the scene for the ceremony beautifully, surrounded by nature. We’re also loving the eclectic wedding bouquet by The Vanda Vase, with a colourful mix of flowers and stems. To tie everything together, they also created the matching flower crown and cake decorations!
I love this wild wedding shoot because its centred around love! It’s not about impressing anyone or spending lots of money, but about the simple celebration of love, surrounded by beautiful nature. For more information about micro-weddings, check out our lovely tribe member Stand Out Ceremonies.
