Fun Festival Wedding Styling at jimmy's farm
This fun festival wedding shoot took place at the brilliant Jimmy’s Farm in Ipswitch. Wedding Planner Natalie Solanke gave us the run of the place and arranged the day for us, which was so helpful!
When I pitched my idea to Lou Kennan of Festival Weddings, she created mood boards and really went to town with colours and textures. The dyed muslin and light-reflecting elements like mirrors and the disco balls really added the wow factor.
Heather from Viva Creative Flower Company used coloured wedding flowers, dyed grasses and foliage to create a gorgeous ‘canopy’ for our banqueting area, which made a gorgeous, bold statement. It looked epic with the furniture from Anthology Vintage Hire.
All about the cake!
This unique wedding cake was supplied by the amazing Fifi’s Cakery. She created a simple ruffle buttercream raspberry coloured (and flavoured) cake, adding bright blooms on the edge of each tier to create a cascade of colours and textures to complement the styling and colours.
Festival Brides - Fun & Colourful Wedding Wear
How friggin’ awesome do these brides look?!
The bridal headdresses and festival outfits were from It’s A Festival Ting. We used the incredible pom pom jacket, tassel jacket and accessories for the less formal parts of the shoot, so the bride and groom can rave it up into the early hours.
Sue’s All About You created the bridal makeup looks, to accentuate the eyes in a bright yet subtle way. The bridal hair was by Julie from Bridal And Vintage Hair, she created a bohemian style by curling the hair and teasing it out.
We took a lot of inspiration from our lovely models, basing a look around Charlotte’s pink hair and incorporating Heather’s awesome blue locks.
Cheryl from Ann Louise Bridal And Events loaned us the fabulous Bibi by Temperley wedding dress which had a touch of colour to complement our brides’ hair.
Impeccable Suit Hire also kindly arranged for our groom to use one of their suits – not to be outshone by the beautiful brides!
Recreating This Fun Festival Wedding - DIY Tips
When recreating a fun festival wedding like this one, why not save some money and DIY it? You can purchase disco balls cheaply online. You can home dye muslin easily at home to add splashes of colour. Try looking in second-hand shops for unusual items. You could use old singles as place names – Lou got an old record and wrote on it, for example. You could collect coloured bottles and jars for little bunches of flowers and create a fun centrepiece using vibrant florals, candles, glassware and tableware. The possibilities are endless!
