a newstead abbey wedding
Here’s what Samantha from Willow & Rust told us about this country garden wedding shoot:
“I have grown up visiting Newstead Abbey and when I discovered that they did weddings I just had to organise a shoot there. A historical part of the Abbey grounds are the Peacocks and I wanted to use them as inspiration for this ceremony shoot. The dress with it’s blue layered tulle and the peacock feather headdress are both nods to these beautiful birds.
There are several areas where you can hold a ceremony in the grounds. I chose this more wild woodland area, which I felt went well with the flowing gown and the slightly wild floral designs.”

country wedding details
We’re loving the combination of moody, free spirited, elegant & classic for this country garden wedding ceremony.
The florals by Willow & Bear Floral Design are perfect for any time of year with rich purples and burgundy foliage combined with soft antique pink and lilac roses. To make this a sustainable wedding, All was UK sourced.
Ellie and Liv created the beautiful wedding stationery on recycled papers, printed with vegan inks and finished with handmade tassels.
No wedding is complete without dessert, and these sweet treats by Sweet Chic look absolutely delicious!

a peacock inspired bridal look
This bridal look is friggin’ gorgeous! Ryley & Flynn created this alternative wedding dress with a mix of vintage lace to mirror the vintage feel of the Abbey and layered blue tulle as a nod to the peacock theme. The bridal headpiece was made with peacock feathers and jewels giving the look a glamorous elegance. Top this off with makeup by CC Makeup Artistry and hair by Rebecca Higham, this bride is glowing!
Let’s not forget the groom, looking dapper in grooms wear from The Wedding Boutique Ilkeston.
To complete this country garden wedding shoot, Trudi Moloney conducted a celebrant wedding ceremony. Oh we do love a good ceremony!
The team have really smashed it with this ceremony shoot – we hope it brings you inspiration!
