your Team
Your wedding suppliers: Working with small, independent businesses invites real people and their stories into the fabric of your wedding. Artisan businesses not only support the local economy but can add a unique personal touch to your wedding planning and the day itself. These suppliers often have sustainable practices at their core and offer services and products that reflect their passion and care.
Could you find a local florist who grows seasonal flowers from just a few miles away, or a catering team that uses locally sourced ingredients? When you work with suppliers who care about people, planet, and purpose, your celebration becomes layered with meaning. These relationships build joy in the planning process and reduce the pressure to be perfectly sustainable, because you’re choosing people who already are.
It doesn't have to be perfect
Sustainability isn’t about getting everything right; it’s about making conscious values-led decisions that align with your values, so instead of trying to do everything right, focus on what’s most important to you as a couple. Maybe that’s preloved bridal gowns, British-grown flowers, or digital invitations, really celebrate those choices, making them part of your wedding story.

spend where it makes sense
Your day will be an investment; consider where your budget can have the most impact. Perhaps putting more towards that amazing local band will create a buzz that will last long after the day, or choosing a caterer committed to local and seasonal ingredients will spark conversation long after dessert. Often, choosing less but choosing better can result in a day that’s more memorable, more connected, and more sustainable.
start the conversation
Talking about sustainability with your suppliers can open up options you never knew existed. Discussing your values can encourage vendors to offer eco-friendly options. And bring these stories to your day, creating a ripple effect, extending the positive impact of your wedding beyond the day itself.
the venue
The venue you choose sets the tone and can carry a lot of the sustainability weight for you, just like Nuroosa, our wedding and events venue in Derbyshire.
Choosing a venue committed to sustainability can significantly reduce the environmental impact of your wedding, and the details you may consider- they’ll have done that for you. Take a look at the sustainability policies on their website, or enquire about achieved accreditations, with The Sustainable Wedding Alliance or B Corp, for example.
The very space you choose to celebrate in can speak volumes about your commitment to sustainability. Consider venues that prioritise eco-friendly practices, support their local environment, or even have a unique connection to nature. Choosing a venue with a focus on regeneration and connection to the land can provide a natural starting point for a more sustainable celebration.
A sustainable wedding isn’t about being perfect…
It’s about making choices with intention, inviting the right people into the process, and letting stories, care, and connection shine through in every detail.
