Joe & Jen’s Tour de France wedding in the Kent Countryside

The Tour of Britain finishes today so we thought it was time to share this gorgeous Tour de France themed wedding with you – captured by tribe member Rebecca Kathryn Photography

The vision for the day was chilled and informal with touches personal to Joe & Jen and their hobbies. They are both big cyclists and love the Tour de France. The theme was incorporated in many ways, from the bridesmaid’s polka dot dress, TDF bunting (yellow, green, polka dot), a bike wedding cake, famous TDF climbs for table names, TDF seating plan, old church vintage bike filled with lavender for the cards and a bright yellow bike at the entrance gate so the guests knew where the party was at.

When Jen found her dress… she was looking for a tea length one and knew straight away this was the one she wanted. Her bridesmaids dress was from Lindy Bop – a perfect polka dot theme, in TDF colours. The men’s suits were navy from French Connection.

Homemade wedding touches throughout

There was a lovely vibe of homemade touches throughout the wedding – Jen’s mum did all the flowers, with a very French feel and TDF colours. Joe’s mum made metres and metres of bunting and baked and decorated the lovely cake. Joe & Jen handmade place names and the seating plan. The couple loved putting a personal touch to it as the day was truly them!

Yellow confetti and Hilarious wedding speeches!

Jen’s favourite moments were the surprise yellow confetti and first dance (see featured photo)  for the wow factor! Although other highlights were her Dad walking her down the aisle, dancing with all the Riga hens and the hysterical speeches.

Our bride & grooms advice to other couples?

It's your day, so make it for you and don’t try to please everyone else. On the day - you can’t see everyone - have a cut off time where you let loose and just get on the dance floor with your other half and friends!

Natural and fun - exactly what we wanted!

"We are not the type of couple who like posing or photos so we’re very apprehensive about photography. Becky includes a complementary engagement shoot in all of her wedding photography collections, so this helped massively and put us at ease. It was fun and not too nerve wracking. On the day the experience was great - we hardly knew Becky was there and so her photography was really unobtrusive. We are so happy with the final pictures as they pieced together the whole day from the eyes of all our guests and let us appreciate moments we may have missed. The photos are very natural and fun - exactly what we wanted"
