Canalhouse, Nottingham’s Alternative Wedding Venue

Welcome to the Canalhouse. An LGBTQIA+ friendly venue in the heart of Nottingham that is full of charm, intrigue and history. This Grade II listed building hosts all types of wedding receptions – from all day full service weddings, to just a twilight evening party. Let us host the wedding day that you have always hoped for. The Canalhouse is steeped in history. With ornate high ceilings, atmospheric fairy lights, industrial red brick, antique wooden flooring, original windows and plush furniture. With small touches such as lighting and a variety of table arrangements to set the scene. There is plenty of room for personal expression and flair. Our function room is on the 1st floor of the Canalhouse, with disabled access via a lift. As an inclusive wedding venue we are proud to be part of Nottingham’s Safe Space Pledge and Trans-Safe spaces Notts.

The function room is managed by an awesome team, all of whom have passion for making your wedding spectacular! At the Canalhouse we can accommodate receptions from 50-100 guests for seated meals, followed by up to 150 guests for a buffet and disco with relaxed seating.

We have canapes, three course wedding breakfasts & buffet options that have items that are suitable for various dietary requirements such as coeliac and vegan. Feel free to discuss with us any requirements or needs that you or your guests may have. 

Our in-house stylist can decorate the room, tables and your cake for you to take the pressure off your day. Offering a variety of decor to match your vibe, we can discuss how we can help with your decor and styling. We also have selection of recommended suppliers, including DJs and bands to suit all preferred genres.
