We’ve seen a lot of alternative wedding venues in our time. We actually thought we’d seen it all. But this gorgeous wedding shoot in a CAVE knocked our socks off! Sent in to us by Peony & Lace Weddings and Hannah Timm Photography, this candlelit loveliness is romantic, ethereal, and full of twinkling magic! Check it out…
Cavern-Chic - Cave Wedding Gorgeousness!
This cave wedding took place at Carnglaze Caverns, A former slate mine in Cornwall with an underground lake. We repeat, an underground friggin’ lake! The naturally dark setting was brought to life with hundreds of candles and fairy lights, creating a magical wedding backdrop! An autumnal colour scheme matches the surrounding woodland and the flecks of orange that occur in the slate.
The magic is in the details…
Stationer Lorraine at Whole Caboodle Design designed a stationery suite to complement the slate nature of the venue. The slate effect is so cool!
Claire’s Sweet Temptations provided an elopement style cake. She designed a slate-coloured cake accented with dried flowers from The Cornish Flower Company in the autumn-rust colour palette.
Sue at Cornish Moor Flowers created a bouquet of dried flowers using pampas grass, bunny tails, honesty, eucalyptus and roses. A matching buttonhole was provided for Shane and a further arrangement of dried flowers acted as a centrepiece in the area licenced for civil ceremonies inside the caverns. Flowers are such a gorgeous way to create continuity in your wedding styling.
An Ethereal Bride With An Individual Edge
Megan is rocking this gorgeous wedding dress from Evolved Bridal – The ‘Melly’ dress by Rara Avis is stunning with its flowing skirt, open back and sheer sleeves. To give the look an edge, the gown was paired with hand-painted Dr Martens and a custom biker jacket by Inanna Bepsoke Shoes. She’s also rocking some fab accessories – a dried flower crown from Luna & Wild, and an array of accessories from Bunny Loves Evie, including a headpiece, necklace and earrings.
Toni Gogola Wedding Hair created a hairstyle of long loose waves, really showing off Megan’s long red locks. Nicola Redman Makeup chose to keep the makeup natural on Megan with shades of peach and orange to tie in the colour palette with a gentle shimmer on her eyes.
Putting a ring on it…
Let’s not forget about the rings! The Molten Wedding Ring Company created these beautiful wedding rings. The refined, fluid, molten texture is indicative of the landscape in the south-west and has an earthy feel to tie in perfectly with the underground caverns and natural slate elements of the cave wedding shoot! We love when everything ties together!
