Ethereal Wedding Photography

Make sure your wedding photographer can nail the ethereal vibe, just like Lola Rose Photography does. We love how free-spirited and emotive these images feel, yet the attention to detail is immaculate. A great photographer will understand that the little details are just as important as the big picture.

Old Mermaid Glamour

The hair and makeup for this photoshoot was done by Amazing Face Dorset. These dramatic yet soft looks were inspired by sirens and old movies of mermaids. The natural waves and warm makeup tones perfectly complement both models’ gorgeous red hair.

Wild Luxury

The statement jewellery pieces, by Charlotte Alegria Jewellery, are inspired by rocks, pearls and nature. They feel glamorous yet slightly weathered, giving them a brilliant character perfect for this ethereal wedding concept.

ethereal wedding inspo

ethereal wedding photography of bride running through the wilderness

This ethereal wedding concept arose when Rokabella Rose had a vision of two beautiful sirens with an air of dark mischief. She wrote a poem about this and built the shoot around it:

“In screaming woods and on rocks where mermaids play,

Two souls of Sirens susurrate, who must be led astray?

An unearthly dance, a whisper of hastening time,

Come to the waters of the wild grey sea and dine.

At midnight by moonlight a breathless gaze,

Across a table they sit, where souls of sailors lay.

With an icy smile, and a chill of mischievous delight,

Whose soul my darling shall we take tonight?”

Rokabella Rose styled this outdoor dining set up, using ceramic plates and cups from Imogen Charleston, and cocktail glasses and cutlery from Rockett St George. The softness of the pink table linen contrasted with the rugged coastal backdrop is stunning.

statement pieces

This ethereal wedding shoot features some stunning focal points, including a poem written by Rokabella Rose painted on a glass sheet by Caboodle Weddings. They also used large resin geodes as part of the styling to add a little crystal magic.

Beachy Wedding Stationery

Rokabella Rose created the wedding stationery using collected beach treasures as inspiration. She then painted some watercolour cards for the sea glass place names to sit on top of so that the colours show through. Then, Caboodle Weddings added the finishing touches with their beautiful calligraphy.

Sculptural Wedding flowers

Maia Sellen Floral Designs created the bouquets and flower instalments for this ethereal wedding shoot. The design is sculptural with offset angles to match the wild, outdoorsy element. The bright white roses paired with dried foliage are a gorgeous combination.
