We’re huge fans of doing your own thing here at ‘Unconventional Wedding’, so when the Colour of the Year 2019 was announced we couldn’t help be a little disappointed at Living Coral. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen the colour Coral integrated into loads of weddings including epic tie dyed wedding dresses and pops of colour into stunning wedding bouquets. However, it just didn’t get us excited! We wanted something which was going to blow us away! Make us feel excited about what we could create with it.
So, in association with Prim & Glad wedding stationery, we decided to create our own. And Deep Blueberry Crush was born! The Unconventional Colour of the Year 2019.

How to incorporate the Unconventional Colour of the Year 2019 into your wedding
OMG! At this point we are super excited as our colour is so adaptable. This dark tone perfectly matches with other striking jewelled colours, guilded goblets and opulent velvets. Imagine it blended into a Willy Wonka wedding (and yes we are thinking about the young lady who became a blueberry in the film!)? Or how about having your wedding under the stars in a galaxy far far away like our feature photo showing a wedding at the planetarium at the National Space Centre, Leicester? Let’s dive in!
How about this stunning deep blueberry crush wedding cake from Debbie Gillespie Cake Design? You could accessorise in several different ways and it’s bound to draw attention at your wedding reception. Is that a little bit of coral I spot in those flowers?

You can also weave our Unconventional Colour of the Year 2019 into your wedding styling. How about a deep blueberry crush table cloth like this one featured in a styled shoot from The Wedding Alchemist (Photo from Rubie Love Photography – full credits below). Match with gorgeous golds and greys!
How about incorporating into your bridesmaids’ dresses? It’s such a flexible colour you can match with white or red like in the picture below.

If you are looking for stunning wedding stationery it really packs a punch too! We love this modern wedding invitation design from Chloe Ainsley Creative.
And if you are heading off into a galaxy far far away, you can even incorporate some aspects of a Doctor Who wedding! Just like this alternative wedding bouquet from Charlotte Laurie Designs. You can see more Doctor Who wedding inspiration on our blog!
