opulent &
whimsical
Here’s what Caroline from Caroline Versallion Bridal Couture told us about this 17th Century meets 21st Century wedding vision:
“Step into our lavish baroque inspired wedding that’s fit for a modern day queen! Starting with a whimsical colour palette of pale blue, accented with pinks through to fuchsia, I created a quirky wedding dress in luxurious silk and tulle, featuring the work of Ashleigh Jay Embroidery. Marie Antoinette’s memorable, opulent style inspired us both.
Chicheley Hall provided the perfect backdrop for our pastiche, with its statement staircase, impressive fireplace and tall windows which flood the ceremony hall with glorious natural light.”

How insanely gorgeous are these bespoke wedding dresses by Caroline Versallion Bridal Couture? They go together perfectly with the white lace boots by House Of Elliot and handmade jewellery by Jodie Gearing.
The bridal look is perfectly complemented by the wedding styling from Acorn And Oak and the team of wedding suppliers bringing the baroque fantasy to life.
The Marie Antoinette Style
Caroline continued:
“Marie Antoinette is often portrayed visually as a whimsical queen, and I really respond to the fresh pastel colours and lavish ornamentation of the baroque period. What I most love about historical references is that so much beauty and opulence was meticulously crafted by hand, each item individually and painstakingly, just like Ashleigh Jay Embroidery’s textile embellishment on my hand-made dresses.
The fresh and playful nature of the dress ‘Marie’ was echoed in the abundant tumbling florals by Butterfly Road, the majestic cake by Eva Cockrell Cake Design and the stationery by The Copper Inkpot. Silk Garters provided the garters, chokers and bespoke bouquet ribbon to add those beautiful finishing touches. Each element breathes in harmony with the next, just as you’d expect, if you were royalty!
The peach gown “Fleur” brings the romance, with its indulgent layers of tulle in shades of peach, pale pink and a surprising flash of fuchsia. Ashleigh magnificently embellished the dress with stitches, beads and hand painting.”

This styled shoot was brought to life by model Mia, brilliantly captured by Shrigley Photography. Her gorgeous tumbling curls were by Dolly Curls and her radiant makeup look was created by Kiran Raval.
The pastel colours, abundant floral installations and the elegance of the wedding venue all worked in harmony to create this baroque inspired wedding shoot. Marie Antoinette would be proud!
