Today we’re loving barn weddings! In particular, we love the way this shoot incorporates modern touches to the barn venue From the coloured dress to the hay bales, contrasting elements have been styled together perfectly into a truly unique look. Courtesy of Roshni Photography, this ‘barn-glam’ shoot shows how you dont have to go rustic for a barn wedding.
Top tips to acheive this look
GOLD IS YOUR BEST FRIEND
Hints of gold can really glam up a barn. Pair with a rich feature colour like the burgundy in this shoot for a sophisticated feel.
LIGHT & SPACIOUS
Search for a spacious barn with a high ceiling and good lighting for a fresh, light feel. This shoot features Patricks Barn in Sussex.
Individual Wedding Dresses
The two brides in this wedding shoot have been styled beautifully with attention to detail. We’re loving the burgundy skirt and black top combo, demonstrating how to look great while breaking convention AND matching your partners hair! The deep magenta is contrasted by the traditional white gown of equal beauty, with the intricate detail and flowing train.
We love how the Brides contrast yet complement each other. It shows two individuals expressing themselves while also looking great together. This is something that can be applied to all weddings- injecting your unique personality into your clothing and findingways to tie different looks together.
Modern Wedding touches
Shoot stylist Illy Goodall did a great job of giving the barn a modern yet romantic twist. The contrasting colours of burgundy and blush work excellently with the woody shades of the barn, and give a vibrant, clean look.
We LOVE this grand balloon arrangement by The Glitzy Balloon Company; it really adds a sense of grandeur. The wedding cake by Tiny Sarah Cakes is also stunning and contributes to the modern feel.
Modern touches
The shabby-chic table is spiced up by the gold in the decorations, with splashes of red adding boldness. Candles are always a lovely way to create a romantic, comfortable atmosphere at weddings, and the gold candleholders by GB Elegant Events do the job perfectly.
The shoot has brought a modern, vibrant touch to a typically rustic venue, showing how a barn wedding doesn’t always have to be jam jar vases and hessian ribbons!
