Festival weddings and British weather don’t always sound like natural companions. But this colourful outdoor glitter festival shoot at Beachborough Park shows that a little rain doesn’t have to steal the show.

Instead, the team behind the shoot leaned fully into the moment. Bold colour, plenty of sparkle and a relaxed festival atmosphere carried the day, even as the rain fell.

A Festival Setting

Beachborough Park sits in open countryside at the foot of the North Downs. Wide lawns create a sense of space, giving couples room to shape the day in their own way.

For this shoot, a sailcloth marquee from Maypole Marquees formed the centre of the setting. Even with rain drifting in and out during the afternoon, the marquee kept the celebration firmly outdoors.

“Start with a festival-style venue or an open outdoor space,” Lily from Quirky Weddings suggests. “Then add a sailcloth marquee for a magical backdrop.”

Nearby, Life’s a Pitch set up one of their colourful bell tents – somewhere to retreat to once the celebrations wind down.

The rain never quite cleared, but the glitter still caught the light and the festival mood held. Photographer Seattle to London Photography captured the colour, sparkle and shifting weather throughout the shoot, while models Nicola and Brian brought the festival looks to life.

Colour and Sparkle

Nicola’s first look set the tone. She wore a white and teal gown from Saff & Sass, paired with a rainbow veil by If the Stitch Fits and a bold rainbow and gold halo crown from The Lucky Sixpence. The oversized headpiece brought colour and drama to the look.

Later in the shoot, the outfit shifted completely. Nicola changed into a rainbow sequin jumpsuit from ASOS, trading flowing fabric for something far more festival-ready.

“Go bold with outfits,” Lily says. “A colourful gown or even a jumpsuit adds personality.”

Hair, Makeup and Glitter

Hair and makeup stayed relaxed but polished with a pop of colour on the eyes. Lara James Makeup created Nicola’s glowing look, while Hair by Tel styled her hair to hold up through rain, dancing and the bouncy castle!

A little extra sparkle, provided by by Luxurious Glitter, added the finishing touch. Across cheekbones, temples and through hair it caught the light whenever the clouds cleared.

Sparkle for all

Brian kept up with the vibe with the sparkle white sequin jacket. The look leaned into the festival theme without tipping into costume.

The shoot also included a young flower girl, Serenity, wearing a coordinating outfit from Saff & Sass. It brought a softer moment among all the sequins and glitter.

Festival Ceremony styling

Ceremony Space

The ceremony styling, created by Lily at Quirky Weddings, centred around a bright arch layered with paper flowers and fresh arrangements from Twig & Bee. Here celebrant Frances Celebrates You lead the couple through a ceremony – umbrellas included!

“I loved creating the ceremony arch. We started with an arch frame and added loads of paper flowers in bright colours – they’re recyclable too. It was then finished with gorgeous arrangements from Twig & Bee. The arch was simple but really effective and would be easy to recreate for your wedding day,” Lily told us.

Festival Wedding Details

The florals carried the same playful spirit. Twig & Bee designed vibrant arrangements in pinks and greens, while the bouquet included an unexpected detail – strawberries tucked among the flowers.

The cake followed the same colourful theme. Bake to the Future created a three-tier design in blue, red and silver, finished with plenty of sparkle and a glitter ball feel.

Festival Entertainment & Playful Details

Outdoor Entertainment

Festival weddings leave room for entertainment that feels relaxed and a little unexpected.

For this shoot, I Do Occasions set up giant garden games across the lawn, while a white bouncy castle from Candytan Events added a playful moment that wouldn’t feel out of place at a summer festival.

“Fun elements like garden games or a bouncy castle really help bring that festival atmosphere to life,” Lily told us.

Performers from Whimsy Circus brought theatre to the scene, showing how live performance can add movement and energy to a celebration.

Evening Entertainment

Glitter wasn’t just for the couple. Luxurious Glitter created a glitter bar where guests could add extra sparkle before heading back out into the festivities.

As the evening side of the setup took shape, a firepit from The Kent Fire Pit Co. suggested a slower pace, with marshmallows ready for s’mores and space for guests to gather once the dancing winds down.
