The day was packed with gorgeous detail, reflecting Emily and Geoff’s fun personalities. From accessories to acrobats, not a single guest was left un-entertained after this fun-packed celebration.
'Welcome To Our Circus wedding - Venue & Decoration
The couple chose the perfect venue at South Farm, Cambridgeshire with its beautiful grounds as the backdrop to the outdoor ceremony and its rustic interior for the evening celebrations. The decoration really added character to the day, with flowers by The Basement Florist and décor by Fleur De Lace. The ruby colour scheme, with white, gold and blue brought the circus theme to life, with the pops of colour adding a bold playfulness.
Outdoor Ceremony
The theme was continued into the ceremony, with colourful props around the seating area. Emily graced the aisle, glowing in her stunning George James Bridal dress, and Geoff stood dapper in his Navy Moss Bros suit (with red tie and circus cufflinks!). The couple’s loved ones fondly watched the ceremony, which was held in the summer house on the water. The sun shone for the newly-weds with the trees as a bohemian backdrop to the romantic ceremony.
A wedding Reception To Remember
The outdoor wedding reception was full of quirks and loveliness with vintage games like ‘Hoopla’. The theme was so well thought out that even the little deckchairs added to the nostalgia and the homemade games were packed with charm. The troop of acrobat entertainers ensured all ages were entertained and really made the wedding unique. They demonstrated crazy stunts, balancing acts and fun performances- They were even teaching guests to juggle! Involvement is key to creating an enjoyable day for your guests and the performers executed this perfectly.
Interior Décor & Evening wedding reception Extravaganza
South Farm’s shabby chic interior was styled fabulously, with red and white drapes creating a ‘Big Top’ feel, with sophistication. Upon entrance, a table was laid out with illuminated ‘E&G’ initials and a caricature of the couple. Sentimental value was added through a collage of sadly departed loved ones- an affectionate way to remember them at the wedding. A collection of vintage signs and frames were dotted around the venue- some were personalised, and some were authentic looking circus adverts. They even had their own personalised ‘peepboard’!
A subtle elephant theme was cleverly woven into the décor. This traditional circus animal has connotations in many different cultures of luck, strength and wisdom, adding depth to the symbol. Playing cards were brilliantly used as place markers alongside an array of vintage table decorations. As the guests feasted, magic was in the air as magician Lee Smith wowed everybody. Again, this interaction with guests was fun for everyone! All of these little touches helped to tie the theme together and make the wedding so spectacular.
Sweet Stuff
The cake was lovingly crafted by Bea Douglas, a friend of the couple. Decorated with circus tickets, it was the perfect unconventional and quirky wedding cake for the occasion! On the topic of dessert, the fabulous sweetie stall also deserves a mention. Who doesn’t love ‘help-yourself’ goodies?
Dancing The Night Away
There is so much to say about this wedding, but most of it is summarised by the smiles on everyone’s faces as they danced the night away. The day and night dazzled down to the smallest details, but what shone brightest was the love shared by Emily and Geoff, and all their loved ones. No clowning around (excuse the pun!), this quirky wedding will surely be one to remember!
