I do believe in fairies! We have some magic on the blog today with this gorgeous fairy wedding! This styled shoot paints a scene of a whimsical afternoon in the garden, with three mischievous fairies peeping out of the trees. Inspired by the classic ‘Flower Fairy’ books by Mary Cecily Barker, this stunning, dream-like bridal inspiration aims to give modern couples ideas on how to create a soft, pretty and pastel palette with some fairy fun along the way. This one was sent to us by MUA Victoria Taylor and captured beautifully by Laura Beresford Photography. Keep reading and prepare to be enchanted!

A woodland fairy wedding!

This fairy wedding concept was put together by MUA Victoria Taylor and hairstylist Marina Moore. Here’s what Victoria told us about the inspiration behind these magical photos:
“The inspiration for this shoot came when Marina found an old copy of Flower Fairies by Mary Cecily Barker and the idea was born! We planned this shoot in full lockdown, and wanted to create something uplifting for the team – something pretty and nothing like we’d ever done before. We kept our eye on the restrictions, having to move this shoot back further and further. Then, two days before we were set to shoot, it was announced that makeup and beauty were still locked down. As the makeup artist, I was gutted but I went in as a coordinator, helping the models to do their own makeup and providing them with the kit they needed. This shoot means a lot to the team, and myself as it was the first time we’d all seen one another after the lockdown.”

how to style a fairy wedding
So, how do you create a fairy wedding wonderland? This shoot is all about light pastels, especially pale pink and lilac against the sage greenery and white. Think light, bright, and airy! This fairyland really came to life with whimsical wedding styling by Sugar Lump Lane and vintage-style props from Hire My Decor. Candleholders, photo frames, and books all make awesome props and can be sourced from your local charity shop! Hire My Decor also provided the giant paper flowers, which were perfect for setting a magical, dream-like scene.
Charmaine of C Taylors Floristry and Rebecca of RT Cakes worked completely in sync to create the flowers and wedding cake that compliment each other beautifully.
Can we talk about this magical fairy hoop?! So dreamy! This was made by Darren at Suffolk Iron Works , constructed by Rich Built and decorated with gorgeous florals by C Taylors Floristry.
