Holly Winter Couture – bespoke veils and wedding dresses

Hello, I’m the Holly Winter of Holly Winter Couture. My passion is designing and creating bespoke wedding wear that is inspired by, speaks to and celebrates you and your love story. I don’t have a signature style or design agenda per se, other than to make sure I include all the elements that make you feel a million dollars. Personalised embroidery is my speciality, and my past creations have included:

• A black dress with glittering tulle bat wings attached to the wrists (the bride actually flapped up the aisle). Plus embroidered bats carrying the groom’s beloved antique micrometers.
• Weddingwear that fuses cultural styles – I’ve made an ivory Indo-Anglo lehenga with bespoke embroidery, and a green and yellow Anglo-Ghanaian wedding dress using traditional Ghanaian kente cloth and bottle green silk satin.
• A super-twirly pale pink tea-length wedding dress. Complete with starry embroidery and some custom made lace trim with a difference. Trim that looked like regular scallop lace around the neckline and sleeves, but looking closer was actually tiny Stormtrooper and Mandalorian helmets. It also had a Tardis on the front.
• A brightly coloured floral dress with hidden motifs and messages embroidered throughout. Such as the couple’s nicknames for each other, the drink from their first date and their favourite superhero.
• Embroidered veils that burst into colour in sunlight light (sometimes to reveal hidden messages!).

Alongside my uniquely creative personalised designs I do make traditional styles too. Particularly when someone has a clear idea of what they want and can’t find anything quite right in boutiques. I am here to bring your dream to life.

I’m probably best known for my moon phase veils but have lots of other styles too. Including the brightly coloured Autumn Queen, hand-beaded Cobwebs & Crystals, and the fairytale pastel Happily Ever After.
