Hi, I’m Melly the Celebrant. An independent celebrant creating warm, inclusive and deeply personal wedding ceremonies across the South West and beyond.

The couples I work with are often thoughtful people who want their ceremony to feel like them. Not like a template. Some are quietly alternative, some gloriously loud about it, some neurodivergent, anxious, blended, LGBTQ+ or simply uninterested in wedding traditions that feel performative or outdated. What they usually have in common is this: they want a ceremony with genuine heart.

I create ceremonies that feel relaxed, emotionally honest and full of personality, without tipping into awkwardness or cringe. The kind where guests laugh, cry, settle in and think, “Ahhh… this feels real.”

No stiff scripts. No copy-and-paste love stories. No “ladies and gentlemen”. Instead, I spend time properly getting to know you both. I understand your dynamic, your people, your history and the small things that make your relationship yours.

I absolutely love creating that feeling just before a ceremony begins, when the excitement shifts and everyone suddenly realises they’re about to witness something meaningful. Then comes the joy, the belly laughs, the teary smiles. The hand squeezes and the enormous cheers as you walk back down the aisle together actually married. Those moments matter deeply to me, and I care hugely about how you both feel while living them.

My ceremonies balance warmth, humour and emotional depth, whilst providing space for different communication styles, family dynamics and comfort levels. I’m especially passionate about helping couples feel safe to show up fully as themselves on the day, rather than feeling they have to perform “perfect wedding couple”.
