black & white
wedding ideas
We are loving this striking colour scheme! Here’s what Toni Searle Beauty told us about this black and white wedding inspiration:
“I came up with this monochrome wedding concept as I wanted to showcase a modern and bold wedding style. A lot of my clients in the past have shied away from the look they’ve loved because family or friends have said it’s ‘too much’ for a wedding, even though they have looked amazing! I don’t think there should be a standard ‘wedding look’ – your hair and makeup should enhance your style and if you love a strong, colourful, sparkly or any other non traditional look then you should feel confident to wear that.
I wanted this shoot to be simple but striking and I love the black and white decor. Of course, I am a sucker for sparkle too so we incorporated that with disco balls, sequin shoes and custom jackets. The green was a nice touch to keep it a bit more natural and fun.”

wedding styling
Toni continued:
“The Venue On Middle Street let us roam all 3 floors of their London wedding venue. Each floor is decorated in a different style so we could get lots of different shots to change the mood/style of the photos.
Emma of Love’s Story Dried Flowers created the modern bouquet and floral arch design – the colours matched perfectly with everything! She also provided the lanterns for styling the arch set.
Kate of The Prop Library has an amazing eye for style and created the epic black and white streamer backdrop. She provided candlesticks and candles, disco balls, crockery, glasses, cutlery as well as styling the table and arch beautifully.
Rebecca of Long Live Love UK created the monochrome wedding stationery in black, white and a darker pop of green. The stationery is fun and modern and looked perfect with everything on the table.”
pre-loved
wedding looks
This shoot contains two equally incredible wedding looks, explained below by Toni:
“Bridal Reloved Tring provided the pre-loved wedding dresses for this monochrome wedding shoot. The short dress and wedding jacket is by Amsale. The longer dress is by Sarah Seven.
Annie Magenis Millinery provided the headbands and earrings. I absolutely love the sparkly headband in the first look – if you see it in real life it’s literally like the sparkle filter you can get on Instagram! Her designs are always gorgeous and comfortable too, really great for a modern look.
Niamh Designs provided 3 different jackets – One biker jacket for an awesome rock and roll bride vibe, and 2 sequin jackets (one black and one white). A jacket can change the vibe of an outfit and is perfect for switching things up.”
Grungy Wedding Makeup
“I [Toni Searle Beauty] created a grungy smokey eye for the first look using black eyeshadow and kept the rest of the look neutral and soft. I love to keep the skin glowy and natural so people focus on your features rather than your makeup. For hair, I defined Hannah’s curls using a small tong and emphasized her natural texture. For the second look with the long dress, I tweaked the makeup slightly and added a green eyeshadow over the top of the black, changed the lip colour to more of a plum tone and I pinned the hair into a ponytail.”
