In The Making

“Tony waited 9 years to propose so it seemed right to celebrate on our 10-year anniversary,” Tash told us. Their love story spans continents, with Tony from Wirral and Tash from South Africa, but their hearts found a special connection to Liverpool. “The music scene and the architecture just spoke to us,” Tash added.

What a perfect, sentimental location for a city wedding! The couple got legally married at St Georges Hall and had their celebrant led ceremony at The Baltic Hotel.

Tash and Tony wanted a relaxed and personal celebration for their city wedding in Liverpool, and boy, did they achieve it! Tash is a celebrant herself so knew the importance of a bespoke wedding ceremony. They included a ‘pass the heartbeat’ ritual, where their friends and family joined hands, creating a chain of love during their vows.

The fun didn’t stop there—during the confetti toss, they turned it into a dance-off between guests! Their reception had a relaxed vibe, ensuring no one got stuck at an awkward table. Instead, they indulged in burgers and curries while the DJ kept the dance floor pumping with the couple’s favourite tunes.

DIY decor

Knowing their city wedding in Liverpool didn’t require extravagant decor, Tash and Tony decided to add their personal touch to the venue. “We up-cycled coffee jars, arranged dyed pampas grass and created banners with our favourite song lyrics”, Tash told us. Can you spot the song references in the decor?

The result of their hard work was a whimsical feel that captured the spirit of Liverpool’s industrial buildings and lively streets. “Who knew so much pink could look so amazing against The Baltic Hotel’s industrial backdrop?” Tash exclaimed. Neither of them expected that the burst of pink on the hotel’s front would inspire their whole colour scheme.

Tash looked incredible in her Lillian West dress, and she added a touch of 60s charm with gogo boots. “Suddenly, it felt just right—whimsical even,” she says. Tony knew he wanted something unique. He found a light natural suit that was far from the traditional options, and it suited him perfectly. The couple loved the contrast between the bright graffiti of Liverpool and their white/light wedding wear.

Tash and Tony got legally married the day before their big day, meaning they got to play around with colour before having their ‘white dress and smart suit’ moment. We love Tash’s green dress and pink bouquet combo, and Tony is absolutely rocking the patterned shirt!

Tash and Tony’s city wedding in Liverpool wedding was a celebration of love, laughter, and life—a day where everyone felt included and cherished. Despite ditching traditions including seating plans, the flower toss, and cake cutting, “It still felt like a wedding—an awesome one at that,” Tash happily concluded.

Congratulations, Tash and Tony! Your city wedding in Liverpool was an amazing example of how love, creativity, and a touch of whimsy can create unforgettable memories. May your journey together be as vibrant and joyful as your special day!
