How To Recreate This Wedding Look

Strong Colour

Don’t be afraid to use lots of different strong colours. Using black can make your bright colours pop and add an alternative edge. Have a play and see what feels good.

Use Your Venue

Use your wedding venue’s decor to your advantage. Maybe they have an awesome focal point or colour scheme that you can use as a starting point.

Unique Wedding Suppliers

Your team is important! Make sure you hire the right suppliers that completely get your vision.

Styling A Skater Wedding

Romy at English Rose Photography came to me with her vision of a skater wedding shoot, with an industrial feel and lots of colour. It was right up my street!

The Canary Shed in Burnham-on-Crouch was the perfect wedding venue, with its colourful ceiling of canary birds and beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony area giving us exciting backdrops to work with.

I was inspired by colourful Moroccan weddings with their bold fabrics and strong colours. I mixed and matched colours of the napkins, linen, glasses and the table decor, from candlesticks to the tea lights (by Decorasian) to show couples that you can experiment with all different colours. The gold cutlery and charger plates really stood out on the colourful linen, hired from The Banqueting Hire Service

Adding The Magic

Flowers With Love spray painted jars and used both neutral and colourful flowers including sunflowers and gerberas on the table to complement our colours. They also created the bridal bouquet!

To frame the table, we used a gold hoop from Lucy Loons with some rainbow material behind it. This was subtle but effective in an already colourful wedding venue.

Streamers by All Her Glory were used in the ceremony area to keep to the bright colour theme throughout and bring an element of fun to the ceremony area.

Skater Wedding Details

This skater wedding is full of quirky details. We all loved this black and rainbow cake by Stacey’s Cakey Bakes, complete with tiny skateboards! This matched perfectly with the cartoon-style wedding stationery by Prim & Glad

The personalised skateboards really brought this whole shoot together, hand-drawn by Inviting Writing. What a cool idea for skaters!

Relaxed Wedding Wear

We wanted a relaxed skater vibe for both the bride and groom. Dom and Beth are a real couple and are both avid skaters!

This beautiful wedding dress was handpicked by Hilary herself from Hilary B to compliment both Beth and the vision for the shoot. HMUA Kylie Green smashed it with the soft relaxed curls and red lip. To finish off Beth’s look, we went with a fedora hat and hand-painted boots and jacket from the very talented Inanna Bespoke Shoes.

The groom’s suit from Coes was fun and colourful to show you don’t always have to be in full top hat and tails, and that wedding wear can be comfortable and unique. Dom even suggested he would wear this for his own wedding and would hire a halfpipe for the reception and still be able to skate in his outfit.

An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

I absolutely adored this mock wedding ceremony. Zoe The Celebrant not only dressed the part but had spoken with our real couple models beforehand and got to know a little about them. She had written up a script and it was beautiful and quite emotional!
