Sophi’s Best Wedding Tips
Let Your Personality Shine
Don't follow tradition if you don't want to. Your wedding day should be about you and the one you love joining together. Don't let others influence your decisions!
Make As Much As You Can Yourself
A bit of DIY adds a lovely personal touch. If you have the time, try getting crafty!
Treat Yourself!
If you can afford it, don’t be afraid to spend your pennies as it’s a once in a lifetime event - and you deserve that nice thing!
Celestial & Geeky - Creating A Doctor Who Wedding
Here’s what Sophi told us about her and Kieran’s big day:
“We wanted to let our personalities shine through. With Kieran’s love of all things geeky and my love of bright colour and all things celestial, we knew we could have one great mashup. Plus, with Kieran and most of his friends having drama degrees, we knew we could make the most of that, too.”
This wedding was styled by The Wedding House. The colour scheme revolved around deep blue and bright purple – very cosmic! They also incorporated Sophi’s love of Orchids, opting for ‘Galaxy Orchids’ with a touch of sparkle.
This bride wasn’t afraid of a little DIY! Sophi made a lot of items herself including the cake hoop, the signage and the table numbers.

The Tardis!
You can’t have a Doctor Who wedding without a Tardis! This life-size replica from Staffordshire Tardis was a surprise for Kieran. One of his favourite moments of the day was having photos taken with the tardis and the groomsmen! More than half of the money made from Tardis hire goes to The Donna Louise Trust which is a children’s hospice.

An Unexpected Bridal Look
Sometimes, your dream wedding wear is far from what you thought it’d be! Here’s Sophi’s wedding dress experience:
“I was originally looking for a black wedding dress and came out with the complete opposite. After trying on this voluminous, sparkly dress at Tasmin’s Bridal Boutique, I couldn’t see myself in anything else. The owner made me feel instantly at ease – being a plus-size bride, I was worried I wouldn’t find anything. Oh, how wrong I was! I completed the look with a birdcage veil and a personalised leather jacket from Paint Babe Art. Everyone, including Kieran, was expecting me to walk down the aisle in something black or colourful, so I enjoyed bringing an element of surprise with something more traditional but still ‘me’.”
Sophi’s hair and makeup artist was Amelia Bourne. They went for a funky retro-inspired updo and a bold lip – with Sophi’s colourful hair this looks incredible!

'Mum's Bodyguard' - Calling In Special Agents
For a wedding as epic as this, a little security was needed to keep things running smoothly. Thankfully, there were some very special helpers on hand. Secret Agent Gabriel took on the prestigious duty of being ‘Mum’s Bodyguard’, escorting her safely down the aisle. Kieran’s nephew, Toby, was reporting for duty too, with the important job of ‘ring security’! What legends!

Achievement Unlocked - Obtained A Wife!
What a beautiful celebration! From ‘flower dudes’ skipping down the aisle, to everyone hitting the dance floor with lightsabers in hand, this wedding was certainly not short on personality! Wishing Sophi & Kieran all the best in their married life!
