Deep Red Colour Scheme
Ditch the whites for a moody and romantic red! This striking colour scheme is perfect for a winter night. Make it luxurious with velvet tablecloths, luscious foliage and candles galore.
Alternative Wedding Photographer
If you’re going for dark and moody vibes, make sure your photographer knows what you’re after and is used to shooting in low light. Dan Waters Creative really nailed the vibe of this winter gothic wedding shoot.
Shake Up Your Tableware
Consider having different receptacles for your flowers, such as vintage vases, and unique twists on tableware, such as sheet music as placemats.
Gothic winter Wedding Venue
To embrace a winter gothic wedding, choose a venue with gothic undertones, dark mahogany accents, old fireplaces, and grand old staircases.
gothic winter wedding ideas
Here’s what Purple Pumpkin Cakes told us about this winter gothic wedding shoot:
“We created this shoot to show that a dark and moody wedding style can still be incredibly elegant. The gothic undertones, intimate setup and soft lighting make it perfect for a winter wedding. The alternative colour scheme contrasts the traditional white, showing how glamorous this deep colour palette can be.
We chose a gothic wedding venue and doused it with a wine red colour palette and more candles than we could count. We also chose to showcase both a red and a black wedding dress to demonstrate how gorgeous it can be to fully commit to a darker colour palette.”
