This modern countryside wedding had me hooked at the mention of a ‘beer-serving sheep’. Yes, you read that right! As I looked at more photos, I don’t know if I was more amazed by the gorgeous lake district scenery or the unbelievably photogenic couple! Modern Wedding planning from Across the pond
The lovely couple flew all the way from Arizona for their modern countryside wedding in The Lake District! Weddings by Annabel told us:
“Last year I had the wonderful pleasure of being called on by Rachel and Aaron from Arizona. They know The Lakes from holidays here. Rachel has a grandmother from Yorkshire and so spent a lot of her youth this way, too. It has a special place in their hearts hence the location being central, overlooking the epic lake Windermere. Silverholme Manor is a grand building with views across the lake and fells with its own coach house for ceremonies, only a short walk from the shore for photos. You can hire the whole place, so it becomes home for the weekend. As great as that sounds, it can be very daunting when you don’t live near!”
A wedding planner is an essential for overseas weddings, ensuring all goes smoothly on the other side of the pond and liaising with UK suppliers. Rachel and Aaron had enough stress getting 40 Americans here safely!
It's not a countryside wedding without a sheep!
The most unique part of this modern countryside wedding must be the superstar sheep! More from Annabel:
“I was over the moon when asked to help as I could tell they were fun and unique with such love at the core of it all! The way it became very unconventional was a sentence that Aaron uttered in our first Skype chat…
“All I really would like as part of the wedding would be to have a sheep serve the beer”.
As you can imagine, that stopped me in my tracks, but I love a challenge. Cumbrian sheep are renowned for their lack of friendliness. We laughed a lot about this concept but true to my word I managed to find the fabulous ‘Crystal’ from the West Coast. Not only did she pull along a vintage cart full of beer, but we surprised both the Bride and Groom with a sheep delivery of the rings! Crystal was super! Many laughs later, guests are still talking about it. I know I am too!”
Effortless Wedding Style
Rachel & Aaron’s modern countryside wedding was effortlessly stylish. Decorations were minimal yet beautiful, with simple candles and delicate greenery. Even Rachel’s dress has that minimalistic elegance, which I absolutely adore! She is glowing with her hair worn loose in beachy waves. Aaron has the same casual yet classy vibe with his first few shirt buttons undone and an awesome velvet blazer. Such a stylish pair! This wedding is so ‘them’, and they clearly put their personalities into their big day. Red On Blonde Photography have done an amazing job at capturing this beautiful day!
