Styling a modern festival wedding
Bristol wedding venue Beeses was the setting for this modern festival wedding. One of Bristol’s best-kept secrets, Beeses is nestled into the riverbanks of the Avon, meaning you can ferry your guests from the registry office in the centre of Bristol, right up to the river bank and into the venue. There’s also a charming English garden running along the riverside with big wooden tables and benches beneath huge sprawling trees. The garden in early May was full of fresh greens with little bloom so the colour scheme was set around the lilac tones of the bridal catsuits instead.
Hannah, stylist and florist from NightJar Events, chose a selection of orchids, anthuriums, hydrangeas and roses. Alongside a hoard of disco balls and biodegradable balloons, the venue was transformed into a lilac tinted dream! NightJar Events is passionate about creating immersive installations with a sustainable approach. Most of the decor for this shoot was made from scraps or reused and repurposed props and materials. After the shoot, the flowers were either dried to re-use or gifted to local businesses.
A disco dreamer wedding ceremony
This bride and groom sure know how to party! We are loving all the gorgeous details in this modern festival wedding.
Luis (of Twos Photography) shot Clara in her first outfit of the day as she relaxed in the shade of the giant trees. White and silver ribbons swayed softly from the low-hanging branches, mirroring her fringed sequin epaulets. Styled with silver metallic festival boots by Terry De Havilland and white organza laces, Clara is the epitome of a festival bride. Hair & Make up artist Rebecca Rose Robinson created a delicate plaited up-do decorated with flowers. The makeup has been kept glowing and natural with lilac hues in the eyeshadow.
For the wedding ceremony by the river, Clara and Cam stand under the Disco Dreamers Moon Gate decorated with disco balls and an array of flowers and foliage. Clara wears a custom catsuit with a full-length veil and Cam is wearing a full back Siren catsuit. Burnt Soul have a size inclusive, ready to wear range of catsuits or you can head to their design lab and create your very own.
Modern festival wedding details
“We wanted Cam and Clara’s dining table to have a froth of flowers running down the center, spilling onto the floor,” Stylist Hannah explained. The statement wedding flowers, lilac tablecloth and mini disco ball ornaments create a luxurious yet fun vibe.
The 3 tier, naked wedding cake was made by Joanna Pyda Cake Studio . She embossed a delicate lilac pattern on the cake before decorating it with flowers. We loveee alternative wedding wear, especially when it says “Let’s party!” Clara is rocking a holographic Lilac catsuit with whitemesh peplum skirt to mirror the veil. Cam is wearing a Luna Starstruck Catsuit with a deep Lilac suit jacket.
Let’s party!
Moving into the evening, the party dial was turned up! Eco glitters and face paints were added, flower crowns made and matching catsuits were put on. The statement archway of balloons and disco balls really sets the mood for a night to remember.
This modern festival wedding definitely blew us away! We love the way these photos encapsulate the pure JOY of festival weddings!
