“This styled shoot in the heart of Prague brought a fresh, edgy twist to the classic wedding concept, set against the backdrops of an independent bookstore and coffee shop. The photos capture the spirit of rebellion, individuality, and love in an intimate setting.
The ambiance was created with soft pink neon lights, glowing over the raw textures of the bookstore’s walls and shelves. This juxtaposition of romantic hues with a gritty, urban vibe created the shoot’s aesthetic.
This shoot beautifully captures the essence of a modern love story: unconventional, unapologetic, and full of life. It’s a celebration of love that embraces individuality with a rebellious flair.”

Here’s what Monika Chaňo told us about this alternative wedding wear and styling:
“Our couple were styled with a blend of elegance and edge—one adorned in a feathered white dress with fishnet tights and chunky black boots, the other in a sequin gown showcasing bold tattoos, paired with platform combat boots. The combination of short and long dresses, each with different textures, creates a beautiful contrast. These elements gave the styling a touch of glam without losing the rawness of the rock vibe. The dresses were second-hand, which is a great source of inspiration for nearly-weds wanting to be sustainable.
The makeup, by Markéta Veselá, was kept simple and natural but with statement dark lips for a rock and roll edge.
We also paid special attention to the bouquets, created by Svítí Kvítí Anna Toufarová. The idea was that when the models brought their bouquets together, they would form a rainbow—a subtle but meaningful nod to the LGBTQ+ community.”

Monica continued to tell us about the locations for this rock and roll wedding shoot:
“This shoot took place in Crunch and Safe Space Bookstore, both unique Prague venues, perfect for smaller celebrations. When creating this shoot concept, I was primarily inspired by the locations. Since one of the spaces is a queer café and library, and I had been wanting to create an LGBTQ+ wedding shoot for a long time, it felt like fate.
The concept quickly evolved into something bold and fun but still relatable. Given that my models are beautifully tattooed, it felt natural to embrace a rock-inspired vibe. We wanted the styling to reflect their personalities and make the shoot feel authentic. I wanted to create something unconventional and different, yet still wedding-inspired and practical as inspiration for couples who might not want an over-the-top wedding but are looking for something unique.”
