How To Recreate This Wedding Look
Go bold with pink!
Don’t be afraid of pink! Teamed with black, the colour really pops but you still have one edgy wedding theme!
Be consistent with details!
For example, this shoot uses skulls as a motif throughout the decor, flowers, stationery, cake toppers and even hair pins!
Mix materials & textures
From the leather jacket and black sequin table runners, to the tulle of the wedding dress, there’s nothing wrong with mixing it up!
Creating A Rock Themed Wedding
Here’s what Becky from Foxglove & Black told us about this wedding shoot:
“As a big rock fan, I wanted to show how you can have a bit of fun with this as a wedding theme. I loved using the contrast of black against hot pink and other bright pastel colours. With the cool industrial vibes of The Shack Revolution, everything just popped against the bare brick walls of this fab venue!
Being an alternative wedding stylist, I firmly believe that your wedding should reflect who you are as a couple and what makes you ‘YOU!’ There are no set rules when it comes to your wedding day, so if you love skulls, biker boots and rock music, then why the hell not have this as your wedding theme?!”

Badass Alternative Wedding Wear
How amazing does model Marilyn look?
Zoe from Scarlett Tayla nailed the design of the wedding dress, using lots of tulle fabric, a leather cincher belt and chain beading. The high low hem showed off the skull biker boots perfectly, with the leather belt also matching the hand-painted leather jacket by Inanna Bespoke Shoes. Kelly from Bunny Loves Evie made the funky tassel earrings alongside the beautifully detailed black tiara crown and skull hair pins. Sarah Russell created the badass crimped updo and strong makeup look with striking eyes and a bold red lip.

Rock Themed Wedding Decor at The Shack Revolution
It’s the details that can really bring a theme to life. Under Pressure Eventz provided the mesh ceremony backdrop, mesh stands and the as well as the epic ‘Love Rocks’ sign. We’re also loving the record details, metal chains for the napkins, and of course, the guitar!
The florals and wedding stationery were created by Foxglove & Black. Becky used small silver skulls throughout her brightly coloured flowers to match the leather jacket, boots and table styling. The stationery featured skulls as the main design feature, accompanied with a graffiti-style typeface which really complemented the theme.
The wedding cake was created by Toni of Blueberry Moon Cakes – What a showstopper! Who can resist a black wedding cake, especially with skull and stud detailing and those amazing chocolate skull head cake toppers? The rock theme continued with the biscuit favours created by The Biscuit Tin, with detailed funky designs.

A Personalised Wedding Ceremony
Let’s not forget about the all important wedding ceremony! Natalie of Velvet Moon Ceremonies conducted a personalised reading for this shoot, including a fun symbolic drink blending ceremony! We love celebrant-led wedding ceremonies because they give couples the freedom to have their ceremony exactly how they want it.
This rock themed wedding shoot would not be the same the brilliant photography of Vicki Clayson, who captured every little detail in vibrant colour and also got some epic smoke bomb shots! Lucy of Waystone Films brought her creative eye to the film she created, which matched the theme of the day perfectly.
