how to create a fleetwood mac inspired wedding
Focus on a feeling
Bride Teri loves the Fleetwood Mac song 'Rhiannon' and wanted to feel how the song makes her feel on her big day. Recreate the 'vibe' instead of the exact look of your favourite band!
incorporate your traditions
This wedding embraces both Scottish and Native American traditions. You might want to honour your heritage in your wedding ceremony, or create your own ritual with a celebrant!
dress the part
Teri is really channeling some bohemian Stevie Nicks energy!
Teri & Tom’s Love Story
Teri and Tom met in Qatar while serving their respective countries in the military. Tom is British and Teri is from the Pacific Northwest, USA. Teri moved to the UK to be with Tom and after falling in love with Scotland’s wild beauty, they decided to get married there. The Scottish landscape reminded Teri of where she grew up. After finding out her family couldn’t come to the wedding (because of COVID), they wanted to marry somewhere Teri felt connected to home.
They had a bespoke, celebrant-led ceremony held in the woodland cathedral, complete with personal vows, sage smudging and a blanket ceremony to honour Teri’s Native American heritage. Teri grew up on the Confederated tribes of the Chehalis nation reservation and is a descendant of the Chehalis and Nisqually communities. Smudging ceremonies are a very important native tradition, as are blanket ceremonies.

Fleetwood Mac Inspired Wedding Styling
This Fleetwood Mac inspired wedding had a romantic, wild feel which featured burnt oranges, rusts, woods, and deep reds. Their styling palette perfectly complemented the rich, opulent tones of the venue and woodland.
Teri made a few things herself, such as the hand-dyed table runners and place setting signs. Teri’s dress from Poppy Perspective was made from vintage repurposed lace and the one she wore was one of a kind.
The entire wedding was inspired by Fleetwood Mac – Teri loves how the song ‘Rihannon’ makes her feel and that’s how she wanted her wedding to feel too. How cool is that?

A Scottish Wedding Celebration
Including family overseas
Even though Teri’s friends and family couldn’t be with her, they were still a huge part of her day thanks to technology. Her friends woke up at 4am to see Teri’s big reveal and Tom’s dad did a speech on behalf of Teri’s dad which made everybody cry.
Embracing The Way Of The Scotts
Tom and Teri wanted to incorporate some Scottish elements because of where they were located, so they had a bagpiper and a Ceilidh band which made everybody get up and dance in the evening. To make the most of the Scottish scenery, Teri and Tom had an adventure session the following day where we hiked around the beautiful Cairn o’Mount and soaked up the expansive views across Aberdeen.
