OUR SECRET INGREDIENTS
No. 1 - Embrace Your Halloween Wedding
Halloween is definitely the time of year to go BIG! As Becky says:
“It’s Halloween, go for it! If you are a big lover of this time of year, then fully embrace it with all things spooky! Want a coffin for your wedding ceremony? Skulls and bats? Or perhaps your bridal party holding floral broomsticks and cauldrons?! It’s YOUR wedding day so do whatever the hell you want!!”
Take for example this Dracula themed wedding shoot which has a black coffin backdrop as its centrepiece. We love the Neon sign to give it a modern twist. Its big, its bold and its totally spooky!
2. Use a Moody Colour Palette
We LOVE an autumnal colour palette here at Unconventional Wedding HQ and Halloween is the perfect time to mix darker colours like black and purple with bold reds and oranges.
“Moody colour palettes. Autumn is a beautiful time of year to get married with rich reds and, vibrant oranges, but there are many darker colour schemes which would work well for a Halloween wedding. Think bright reds with pops of purple and black or go for a dark colour palette.” combined with the soft and romantic allure of blush pink.

no 3. Get a black wedding dress
A black wedding dress is the perfect gothic wedding look and one of our top Halloween wedding tips. And why not embrace your inner Morticia Addams, or Wednesday Addams.
Not wanting to go full on black! You can also throw in splash of colour to break things up. Read more on our dedicated blogs below!

No 4. keep Your Halloween Wedding classy
“Keep it classy! Darker or themed weddings can have a reputation of looking tacky or clichéd – BUT there is really no reason why they should if they are done right! Think luxurious fabrics, beautifully dark florals and tasteful decor and you’ve got one stunning yet moody wedding day.”
5. Get lots and lots of candles!
As the sun sets earlier this time of year, its key to create ambience using different types of lighting.
“Candles – and lots of them! Let’s face it, nothing sets the theme for a gothic wedding more than sparkling candlelight! Whether lining your aisle or on your tables, candles are a MUST!”
