how to recreate this wedding style
Creating A Boho Disco Wedding
Here’s what Laura from Sonder Lust Photography told us about this shoot:
“When The Silo Barn popped up on my Instagram feed, I just knew I needed to shoot there. With those industrial vibes mixed with all that wood, how could I not get inspired? Willow Grange Farm is all about originality, fun and frolics – It’s not your standard barn wedding venue.
When I style weddings, I try to think about all those traditions we are used to seeing when tying the knot, and then do the opposite! When planning this boho disco wedding shoot, I knew hot pink and orange needed to be involved. I combined this with my newfound love of disco balls and here we are! I will always be a lover of natural materials and industrial vibes, so adding a bohemian twist made the perfect glue when marrying all these elements up.”
Yes Sir, I Can Boogie - Disco Wedding Styling
It’s the details in this shoot that really bring the look together. The 70s-inspired wedding stationery by Peach Wolfe Paper Co. is bold and eye-catching. The retro vibes are also strong in the geometric backdrop by Fig + Form, which really completes the ceremony setup alongside the funky neons by Pink Lamp.
This boho disco wedding was brilliantly styled by Carmela Weddings and Events. The table set up is simple but funky, with tall candles and eclectic vases. Pops of bright turquoise were added to the pink and orange colour scheme, really emphasising the fun and bold vibe. A statement backdrop or sign can really make your wedding pop, demonstrated with this ‘I Got You Babe’ banner by Daydreamer Creative Studio. We’re loving the disco influences!
Bohemian Wedding Wear
Model Cathy looks incredible in this lace, bohemian wedding dress from Shades of White, with a cheeky midriff cutout and epic flared sleeves. Her hair was swept back into an elegant low ponytail by Bridal Hair Artist Yuki Black, and the makeup was kept natural and glowing by Makeup by Lottie. The bouquet by Augusta Hope brings in the bold colour scheme whilst still being beautifully bohemian.
Will is keeping it simple with classic black trousers and a relaxed shirt with rolled-up sleeves and top buttons undone. Sometimes, simple just works!
A 'Smashing Wedding Cake'
This disco wedding cake by Elif’s Patisserie looks absolutely incredible, complete with disco balls!
Nothing says ‘spontaneous’ like an impromptu cake smash! These photos are so much fun and are a brilliant idea for unique wedding photos.
Boho Disco Wedding - Have Fun & Relax!
Here at UW, we’re all about making your wedding day as fun as possible. Why not add a few little touches that will make you smile? This shoot features The Swig + Filly – an awesome Airstream mobile bar that provided the team with yummy cocktails!
To complete the day, Cathy & Will got to relax in the outdoor hot tub at Willow Grange Farm, right next to their cosy accommodation. What a way to end the day!
