Enchanted Forest Inspired
Wedding at Soughton Hall
An enchanted forest wedding isn’t defined by trees or setting, but by atmosphere.
At Soughton Hall, this styled shoot builds that feeling entirely within the space. Moss, layered florals and texture reshape the room, creating something enclosed and immersive. The space shifts into something softer, more overgrown, where the outside world falls away.
Planned and captured by Arielinblue Photography, the direction leaned into fairytale and folklore without tipping into excess. There’s restraint here. Even with the scale, nothing feels overdone.

An enchanted forest built indoors
The rooms at Soughton Hall didn’t act as a backdrop. They were absorbed into the styling.
Florals by Meadow Lane Floral Design were built into the space rather than placed within it. A broken arch sat among layered arrangements, while moss softened the base of each installation.
Large, organic arrangements filled the fireplaces, with softer clusters placed on the tables. A bouquet of peach and white roses carried the same palette through the styling.
The florals don’t frame the scene – they created the scene.
“I had long chats with our florist,” Alessandra of Arielinblue Photography explains, “and she built a whole world from flowers and greenery.”
Fairytale styling with a folklore edge
Two looks ran through the shoot, both ethereal with a nod to fantasy and folklore.
Lorna wore a short dress layered with lace, finished with large bell sleeves that fell loosely from the elbow for the first look. House of Elliot provided long lace boots which complemented the lace.
Harmony Wedding Hair created a romantic half up style for Lorna, with loose curls left down the back. Olive and Petal Studio created a makeup look that stayed light and skin-focused.

Lorna changed into another design from The Couture Company for the second look. A corseted gown, covered in pastel florals, sat over a full tulle skirt. The shape was fuller, but still soft in movement.
Hair remained half up, this time with a textured braid running through the back.
Jemma Bowers provided elegant gold jewellery that added sophisticated touches to complete the look.
Tom wore a dark three-piece suit, with a floral buttonhole that echoed the tones and textures used throughout the florals.
“The accessories tied everything together in a really poetic way,” Alessandra says.
A handfasting ceremony shaped by ritual
The Spiritual Celebrant lead a ceremony that was built around a series of rituals, each carrying its own meaning.
It took place under the Aquarius New Moon, a moment often associated with new beginnings and shared promises
Lorna and Tom read personal letters before the handfasting binding began.
A cord created by Solar Crone was tied in stages. Each bind marked something specific – partnership, appreciation and celebration.
The couple lit a candle to welcome these values into their relationship, then blowing it out they made a wish for each others happiness.
The exchange of rings from Jemma Bowers concluded the ceremony.

A cake that set the direction
The starting point wasn’t the venue or the styling. It was the cake.
My Beespoke Bakehouse created a three tier design, with the top appearing to float slightly above the others. Flowers circled around the base and climbed upwards, drawing the eye through each layer.
The two lower tiers were textured, while the top remained smooth, creating a contrast in finish.
“We saw it at a wedding fayre and couldn’t stop thinking about it,” Alessandra says. “We ended up building the whole concept around it.”
Details that hold the space
Stationery by Lucy March Studio reflected the same mix of softness and structure. Invitations were finished with torn edges and printed illustrations, while place settings and menus were more structured with organza ribbons and gold wax seals.
The tables ran in a long caterpillar layout, dressed with white linens, moss and florals. Candelabras wrapped with lace added height and even more romace.
Holding the atmosphere
Soughton Hall has a range of rooms that carry a mix of scale and warmth. Larger reception spaces sit alongside smaller, more enclosed rooms, allowing the setting to shift between spaces. Lorna and Tom moved through each space naturally, while Arielinblue Photography, assisted by Eve Bradshaw, captured warmth and intimacy as well as the wider setting with a focus on natural, candid storytelling.
Visualise Content Photography followed the same direction, capturing movement and styling in motion.
