how to create an ethereal woodland wedding
Embrace nature
Use the beauty of natural surroundings to enhance what you have. You can always forage (responsibly!) to add to your wedding decor.
Dark colours
Embrace dark colours to give your wedding the moody vibes. Black wedding wear is always a win!
a unique ceremony
Make your wedding ceremony unique to you. Working with a celebrant is a great way to create a ceremony that reflects you as a couple.
An enchanting woodland wedding
This ethereal woodland wedding was a collaboration between Wild Hearts Photography, North East Wedding Planner and BexBrides. The new woodland ceremony area at Langley Castle in Northumberland created the perfect backdrop for this ‘dark fairytale’ inspired shoot – combining bohemian styling with whimsical decor and a dark colour palette.
Ethereal Woodland Wedding Details
We’re loving this gothic take on a classic fairytale wedding. The styling was tied together with stationery by Made2Matter and botanical place name settings by Sugar Crush Weddings. Books, candles and gold fruit ornaments were used to bring in the fairytale theme.
One of our favourite parts is this table for two with gilded candlesticks and locally sourced foliage and florals. Perfect for a woodland picnic!
The outdoor wedding ceremonies were lead by North East Wedding Celebrant , including a candle lighting ritual, in which two smaller candles come together to light a bigger one. We love celebrant ceremonies because there are no rules, meaning you can craft a perfect ceremony that’s personal to you.
epic black wedding dresses
Not everybody wants a white wedding! This shoot embraces the new dark trend quickly taking the industry by storm. People are daring to express themselves with creative bold black wedding styling, contrasting light and airy wedding convention.
Both of these couples totally embraced this style with bohemian black wedding dresses by BexBrides. Dr Martin boots replaced the classic Jimmy Choos and wild rambling floral bouquets by The Northumberland Forager to completed the looks. Claire Alexandra Makeup created the hair & makeup looks, really adding to the dark-fairytale fantasy.
Gavin Scott Menswear provided the suits for this shoot, both reflecting the models’ individual styles.
