“Roads?! Where we’re going, we don’t need roads!” We have a gorgeous retro engagement shoot to share with you today, brilliantly captured by Pink Photographics.
Lauren and Tom went about their engagement differently- they planned their wedding before getting engaged! They had their date set, venue booked, MUA and Photographer confirmed, and a beautiful ring purchased, but they weren’t officially engaged as neither of them had popped the question! This shoot is their way of announcing their engagement and wedding date – although the engagement wasn’t “official” until a few days after the photos were taken.

How to recreate this Retro look
you do you!
Dress up… or don’t! Wear whatever makes you feel like your best self!
INCORPORATE YOUR THEME
If you’ve already decided on a theme for your wedding, incorporate this into your engagement shoot/announcement to give guests a hint of what to expect!
All dressed up on the farm!
While exploring the farm for the best locations, Lauren was trying to find the number 27 on the side of the ISO containers as that’s the date they have chosen for their wedding. They found no joy there, but they turned over a random wooden black door that was propped up on the side of a barn which amazingly had 27 on it!
The couple were dressed to the nines, with Tom rocking a gleaming white tuxedo. Lauren rocked a stunning pink dress from Lindybop and personalised jacket from Sammy Lea’s Retro Emporium. Her hair was styled immaculately by Plaits and Pincurls. It can be so much fun dressing up and having fun in front of the camera!

Retro References
Having a DeLorean was a must for Lauren and Tom’s retro engagement shoot, so they rented this beauty from Star Car Hire. Their wedding day will be film themed and one of their favourite movies to watch together is Back To The Future. Having all the references in the photos shows the couple’s personalities and gives guests an idea of what to expect on the wedding day.

A little Photo-bomber
During the retro engagement shoot they experienced every weather possible. It started off beautiful and sunny with gorgeous blue skies- drizzle – sun – crazy white sky – full on torrential rain with hail stones – thunder and lightning, the lot! Once the rain finally cleared, the couple had a little visitor and got photo-bombed by a lamb!
