Looking for something different to the normal floral wedding bouquet? Do you want to have accessories, like an alternative button hole, on your wedding day which are just a little bit quirky?
Alternative options can be a brilliant way to create a lasting keepsake or incorporate your personality into your wedding day. Not one is ever the same as the other due to the creatives that work tirelessly to make them all by hand. The variety is endless and can incorporate virtually any theme.
They are also great for overseas weddings as with the right packaging they can travel well. But do you know the different types you can get for your wedding? Here’s our guide to help you decide!
Button wedding bouquets
Button bouquets are suitably versatile for any style or colour palette. Embellishments can be added to personalise them further to match your personality. Many of the creatives who create them spend ages looking in antique shops for the perfect unique buttons to include. We’re loving the Doctor Who inspired designs below – there is more inspiration on our Doctor Who wedding blog!
Paper wedding bouquets
A lot of us will have seen origami for your wedding day but you can also get paper bouquets. The paper can be folded to make intricate, three dimensional flowers or they can be made to look like real flowers! All types of paper can be used so you could go for your favourite books in the bouquet or even playing cards. It all adds to that extra personalised touch. They can be embellished with other materials such as brooches and felt as well. You can check out more pictures from this on our Arabian Night inspiration blog.
Felt or Fabric wedding bouquets
Felt (or fabric) is a versatile option for your alternative wedding bouquet and is a great material to combine with brooches as well. They can be matched specifically to your colour scheme and look fabulous in bright, vibrant colours as well as pastels and softer shades. Check out the felt leaves created by tribe member Charlotte Laurie Designs below and the skull purple and black alternative bouquet from Charlene Wedding Designs.
Crystal and Semi Precious wedding bouquets
You can also get alternative wedding bouquets made out of Swarovski crystals and semi previous stones! Take this fabulous example from CRZyBest, which is made of non-tarnishing wires and also includes tiny metal sculptures to match your wedding theme. It’s all in the detail to get the WOW factor!
Brooch wedding bouquets
Including a brooch in your alternative wedding bouquet is a tradition often seen in floral wedding bouquets as well. You can attach the brooch, or similar, to the ribbon and it’s a great way of remembering a loved one when you walk down the aisle.
Though it has to be said that brooch bouquets are the next level. What’s better than a bouquet of vintage brooches including said family heirloom. They are often mixed in with jewellery, rhinestones, ribbon, lace …. to name but a few! If you are looking for something predominantly silver or gold these could be the right one for you. They are also perfect to incorporate to themes such as Harry Potter, Wizard of Oz or Alice in Wonderland.
You can also take it up to the next level with something quirky and eclectic example which even includes a mini music box like these fab ones from Maddison Rocks Floral!
