How To Recreate This Regal Wedding
Hearts & Diamonds - Two Regal Wedding Looks
Here’s what Becky from Waves Weddings And Events told us about this regal wedding shoot:
“Our Hearts And Diamonds styled shoot took place at Marden Park Mansion, Woldingham, Surrey. It was a dramatic backdrop for two gorgeous wedding setups. We featured two wedding styles with unique florals, wedding wear, accessories and cakes to complement each couple. One couple was styled after the red ‘Queen of Hearts’ and the other a white ‘Queen of Diamonds’. The shoot features striking red and white, an uncommon yet bold and fun option for weddings”. continued…
Breaking Down Gender Stereotypes
“Our models were incredible and worked so well together to help create amazing shots. Our ‘groom’ models really made the shoot. Elodie (from the red shoot) is non-binary and a huge advocate for LGBTQ+ visibility. He also works with actors and models on informed consent around intimacy – something that every shoot should keep high on the agenda of importance. Elodie’s intimacy workshop with each model couple ensured everyone was comfortable and happy with how the shoot unfolded.
Rachel (from the white shoot) came out as transgender just over a year ago. She models as a male-presenting ‘groom’ in this shoot and actually, this is an important piece of visible strength. She is showing that choosing to present one way or another shouldn’t take away from anyone’s right to identify as they feel best fits their soul.”

Diana looks stunning in this Art Deco wedding dress. It has a simple column shape, a geometric sequin design, long sleeves and a simple silk slip beneath. The coat is made of sheet silk organza with wide sleeves and a diamond brooch to fasten.
Becci Boos Custom Shoes and Bridal Designs designed the white shoes for the Queen Of Diamonds, inspired by the geometric dress.
Regal Wedding Hair & Makeup
Leanne Hart was the makeup artist for this shoot. For the red queen, she focussed on defined eyes, glowing skin with a bold red lip. She then created red freckles and used a high gloss for a luxurious and regal wedding look. For the white queen, she created a more natural look, focussing on silver tones with nude pinks that complimented the model’s skin tone. She used diamonds on the bride’s forehead and cheeks to add a little sparkle.
Hairstylist Isra Rana Signature Brides took inspiration from the hair accessories to create hairstyles which complemented the models. Soft, natural looking curls were created with flattering half-updos, a sweeping fringe for the white queen and a full fringe to frame the red queen’s face and enhance the beautiful colour of her hair.
Regal Wedding Details
So Blooming Beautiful created the floral installations and bouquets for this shoot. The white mantelpiece provided the perfect backdrop for a network of roses, gypsophila and eucalyptus. The red bouquet included garden roses with a collar of pussy willow.
For the white wedding, an equally organic shape was created using roses, carnations and gypsophila alongside eucalyptus. This bride’s bouquet had a cascade of orchids and roses with eucalyptus.
Statement Wedding Cakes
For the Queen Of Hearts cake, Silverleaf Cake Company created a vibrant red, three-tier, off-set square design. It was embellished with red geode detailing, and gold embossing, finished off with handmade sugar paste flowers. Red cakesickles were adorned with red geode detailing and gold embossing to match.
The white cake was inspired by ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ – a white double-barrel coconut and lime cake covered in white chocolate ganache. Embedded in the fondant were edible images of hearts, diamonds and chess pieces. A focal point was created with white magnolias and gold leaves. The white cakesickles were covered in the same textured fondant with mini edible images to match the main cake.
Creative Wedding Ceremonies
Miranda Ash created celebrant-led ceremonies for this shoot which blended traditions with a modern twist. The beauty of a celebrant wedding ceremony is that you can create something unique and magical to kick off your wedding celebrations in style.
After sharing their love story and exchanging vows and rings, both couples symbolised their union with a handfasting ceremony. For a handfasting, ribbons or cords can be woven together or placed over the couple’s hands. Once the hands are removed, they pull the ribbons and hold the infinity knot aloft signifying that they are joined together.
The red ceremony ended with a jumping the broom ceremony – again, an ancient ceremony practised across many cultures. Jumping the broom together signifies beginning their union with a ‘clean sweep’. It’s a fantastic way to end a ceremony on a high note ready to celebrate.
