You are just going to ADORE the alternative wedding inspiration we have for you today. This celestial gothic wedding shoot was organised by Pretty Vintage Hire and captured by Doodah Photography. It’s dramatic, sultry and full of striking details! Keep reading for a gigantic moon prop, a historic wedding venue and a fire performance!

Celestial Gothic Wedding GORGEOUSNESS
This celestial gothic wedding took place at Elvaston Castle, Derby. This alternative wedding venue boasts a grand staircase leading to a gothic hall, commissioned by the 4th Earl in 1831 as a token of love for his wife, the Countess of Harrington. Talk about romantic!
Not only is a gothic wedding theme dark and moody, but also inspiringly eccentric and unique. The intention here was to combine the venue’s historic values with a modern-day twist.
Styling A Historic Wedding Venue:
Elvaston Castle’s grand staircase was decorated with unique floral arrangements, flickering candles in vases, a giant moon seat from Pretty Vintage Hire, and lots of giant pampas grass to bring depth and warmth.
The ceremony chairs were original chapel chairs from Pretty Vintage Hire, quite fitting for the room itself.
The intimate top table setting was centralised by the hall’s intricate mirror display typical of 1800’s Gothic style. It was decorated with gold cutlery and crystal glassware from Absolutely Vintage and personalised champagne glasses from Calligraphy by Cali.
This shoot was adorned with unique floral arrangements by J Austin Designs. The flowers were unusual and plentiful so the team used them wherever possible to bring colour and a rustic feel to the different settings.

A Fire Performance In A Black Wedding Dress
Okay, how BADASS does this bride look? Nyx Arielle is an epic performer who treated the team to a fire show! She’s rocking a black wedding dress from Ryley & Flynn Vintage and a star crown from Maisie Darling. Amazing Grace Hair & Makeup gave Nyx a soft, dewy face with striking colour that set off her blue eyes, and a loosely curled updo.

Celestial Gothic Wedding Details
It’s the details that can bring a wedding like this to life. This celestial gothic wedding shoot features a magical, unique wedding cake by Cake Rack Lutterworth. This black and gold marbleized design features an opening of crushed purple crystals. An amethyst dream!
Doodah Designs provided the awesome wedding stationery to complement the unique features of the venue.
Details like cake, stationery and flowers all help to tie the wedding theme together and create a sense of continuity throughout the styling.

How To Recreate This Look
Are you wanting to rock a celestial gothic wedding? Here’s some wedding styling advice from Bryony of Pretty Vintage Hire:
“Even in a well-decorated room, go big. Don’t be afraid to add in props and your own style. Be prepared to adapt and change things up to get it looking and feeling just how you want it. Use props at low and higher level to give you that space to work in between so the main attraction doesn’t get lost.”
I think it’s safe to say the team smashed it with this shoot. We are well and truly inspired!
