A romantic woodland wedding - A Shakesperian Love Story
“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.”
– William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream
The grounds of Mount Ephraim are bursting with lush foliage, enchanting woodland and stunning rose gardens. The team used each coloured rose to represent a different element of love. The dark red depicts perfection, beauty and adoration for your partner, the deep pink shows appreciation, gratitude and sincerity, the lilac rose represents love at first sight and the red rose, symbolises true love, passion, and respect. All of Shakespeare’s love stories tell tales of beauty, passion, respect and love at first sight. The idea of using colour to represent and tell a story was the main inspiration behind this romantic woodland wedding shoot.
Romantic woodland wedding styling - Eclectic Oppulence
This colour scheme feels opulent and warm, whilst the rugs on the floor create an eclectic bohemian feel. To recreate this look, don’t be afraid to mix and match pieces of furniture and play with placing candles and chandeliers. Use the woodland to your advantage, decorating and celebrating them with flowers and lights! This shoot combines ‘shabby-chic’ and ‘luxurious’ styling for a dreamy vibe. Props also work beautifully! How romantic is this wooden moon from The Little Wedding Warehouse? The wooden furniture and boho-luxe table styling really make this shoot feel like a scene from ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
Midsummer Night's Brides...
Don’t these brides look stunning? We love the flowery updos and bright bouquets with rosy lips to match. The bridesmaids are embracing the unconventional in black silk dresses and leather jackets, softened with cream shoes and rose bouquets.
This romantic woodland wedding shoot is simply a stunner! From the colour symbolism to the whimsical styling, the team truly captured the Shakesperian ‘love story’ essence. Here’s a lovely quote to end on by the man himself!
“So we grew together,
Like to a double cherry, seeming parted,
But yet an union in partition,
Two lovely berries moulded on one stem.”
― William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream
