When Nicki Shea Photography sent us these fun autumnal wedding photos from Tanja and Chris’ wedding, we just had to share them! So much love radiates from these photos, and they feature the cutest dog ever! The motto for this wedding was ‘Stay Wild, Flower Child’ and we’re loving the mantra. Read on to find out about Tanja’s wedding planning inspirations in her own words.

How To Acheive This Fun Autumnal Wedding Look
make your venue feel like you
Tanja and Chris took a sophisticated wedding venue and made it feel more ‘them' with wildflowers and personal touches.
warm autumnal colours
Blush pink and royal red work a treat.
Fun Autumnal Wedding- A love story...
I am German, Chris is from London and we both work in video games. We met at a game studio in Frankfurt six years ago. Three months after we started going out, I got a job offer in Cambridge. I moved to England by myself and 3 months later he stood at my front door. As people say, the rest is history!
I endure his passion for video games he supports my passion for trying to rescue all the animals in the world. A few years into our relationship, the second love of our lives became part of our family: Ahnah, our Alaskan Malamute rescue dog. We like to refer to her as Madame Floof. It was so important for us to ensure Ahnah was able to be part of the wedding day, so we had a dog-sitter bring her over to the venue for a few hours for the video and pictures.

Wildflower Bride- Autumnal Wedding Look
We chose a warm, autumnal wedding colour scheme and went with something that would fit the venue quite well. The venue is very classy, so it was important for us to try and challenge that a bit; we added lots of wildflowers along with personal touches to make the venue more “us” under the motto “stay wild, flower child”. One of my favourite personal touches: Chris loved the movie “Toy Story” when he was little, so I surprised him with a bespoke and individually designed ring box at the altar.
Our families were super helpful. My brother designed all signage and the menus for us. I really loved our centrepieces with the golden metal tins and the Hendricks bottles on the log slices with candles and more wildflowers.
I loved my autumal wedding look! My simple Vera Wang dress left me with lots of room to play with hair and make-up. I usually have pink hair anyway, but for a day like this Jordan from The Hairdressing Company in Hitchin turned it up a notch. Elly Jayne Hair and Make-up brought it all together on the day with my festival vibe inspired glitter make up and the hair inspired by Lagertha from the TV show “Vikings”.

Autumnal Wedding- What Matters the most
Our autumnal wedding wasn’t a big one in terms of the amount of people. But every single person being there on the day meant the world to us, including the suppliers we loved having with us on the day as we managed to put an outstanding team together.
We had friends and family flying in from Germany and even from Washington DC, so it was great to have our nearest and dearest arrive a day before the wedding and all stay at and around Swynford Manor together for two nights to make the travel worthwhile for everyone and making sure we all got to spend time together.
To conclude, I’d like to add that if we had the chance to re-live our wedding, we would – while not changing one single thing about the day!
